The time of my wedding will soon be here,
And I will think back gratefully through every year.
I am so glad you raised me in a loving home;
That's what I want when I have my own.
When I am married I will have a new role -
To be a good wife will become my goal.
In many ways it will be a big task,
So I'll have some concerns and questions to ask.
But now I will try to put into play
All the things you taught me from day to day
I'll measure up all I want to be
Because of the example you've lived for me.
