Flowers By Emil !!!! (WITH PICTURES!)
Okay, this post is LONG overdo.
First, I want to thank all the Flowers by Emil (FbE)ladies for talking about him and letting me know about this wonderful vendor. I think alot of us have heard about the more popular florists on this site (Burtons, Laurie,etc), but this is one vendor that I don't think too many LI brides are using, and I must say that that is a disgrace. FbE is located in Brooklyn, but ladies please do not let this deter you.
During the holidays, I made appointments to see florists, and one of the florist I decided to go see Flowers by Emil because of Nylisa's rave reviews on him (so great were they that I thought she might have been an employee![]()
, but after going there I see he deserved every comment!)
Carmine is such a great person to work with. He really listened to my ideas, offered suggestions on things to incorporate, and has a great sense of humor. You can tell that this is one man that really loves his profession. He knows flowers like the back of his hand. In addition, his shop has so many plants, flowers, vases, that he can show on the spot a prototype of what you want.
I started discussing my color scheme and how I wanted pink and yellow roses, and he started to make a sample bouquet with the flowers he had. If I said that flower was too dark, then he pulled out a lighter one to see if that's what I wanted. He reccommended shades of the color that would complement the BM dresses. I never knew that a rose could come in some many different hues of pink and yellow.
Even further Carmine actually explains to you about each plant, he talks about the diameter of the rose and how that can effect your look, flowers that are good for hot weather, etc. He was even able to offer me suggestions about coordinating my flower delivery with my hall since he has worked there many times.
Without me even asking, Carmine put together a sample centerpiece for me. Basically,it was for me to get a general idea of what we were discussing. He gave the cp to my mom to keep and he made me a bouquet of flowers as a gift. Needless to say, I booked him on the spot without an ounce of doubt.
My mom wanted to buy a bouquet of flowers for a co-worker of hers, so she asked Carmine to make one for her. Now my mom was all ready to pay, but Carmine was like 'No, this is on the house.' I walked out of there with so much!
Oh, I forgot to say that got everything I wanted and more without going over my budget. He really makes sure you get what you want and he works with you. If I had wanted high CP I could have gotten them, but my mom don't like high CP so we didn't get them. But, I know that Carmine would have been able to do it for me at a price that I wanted.
Okay, I'm not going to say anymore. I know the proof is in the pudding, but I honestly don't think that I can go wrong with this vendor. I'll let you know in July. In the meantime, you can look at the pictures below.![]()

Ok, first 3 pics are the CP, and the last on is just a bouquet of flowers he gave me for free. My CP is going to be much fuller and bigger than that, but he just wanted to give me an idea. I'm also not keeping the green and the silverish fillers flower. And, I'm going to put a 12 inch candle on either side of the CP. Oh, yeah I'm not using the light pink roses, I think we may have decided to do ivory instead. Oh, that's not how my wedding bouquet is going to look. It's just going to be ivory roses with the turquoise hydrangeas, and stephanotis (misspelled). Oh, I can't wait to see it! Sorry, I didn't get a chance to get a picture of the bouquet he made for my mom's friend. It was a different arrangement of flowers completely.
