How many of you made (or are making) your own programs and/or menus?

How many of you made (or are making) your own programs and/or menus?

Are you making your own programs or menus? Any helpful hints on how to do it or where to buy heavy cardstock (we couldn't find anything at the Michael's in Westbury)?

If you ordered yours from somewhere, feel free to let me know where you got them and how they turned out. Thanks!

I ordered all my paper from paperandmore.com and will be making both menu's and programs with that paper. Not done yet, but hopefully by this weekend

I ordered my program covers from Invitations4less.com. I picked something to match my invitations, in the same linen card stock. I will post pictures tomorrow, but their service was excellent and they are a really great match! 100 cost me approx. $140. I'm printing the inserts myself.

I bought my paper from Staples - same as my cry packets - and will print my menus and programs on them also - hopefully in the next week or 2

Menu paper from Christmas Tree Shops. It's actually DIY invitation paper -- it was the right size and weight for what I wanted, and it even came with ribbon and vellum overlays. I printed them myself and they came out great.

I ordered program paper from somewhere online, weddingexpressions, maybe? I'm anxiously awaiting the paper's arrival. We plan to print or photocopy the programs ourselves. I procrastinate way too much to be able to use an outside vendor!

ETA: I had a bad experience with weddingexpressions and would not recommend them for reliable service.

Kate's Paperie
Lee's Art Shop
Traesure Island

If you're doing you're own programs with sheets of paper inside, are you planning on printing them on your home computer or taking them out to a Kinkos (for them to print on your paper?). I don't even know if Kinkos does something like that, so I'm curious. THank again

I'm printing them on my own printer. I think kinkos can do it for you too.

Jennie, I'm printing them myself. My cover is ivory with gold lettering, so I'm just doing the inside in ivory paper with black writing. I'm either going to bind them with ribbons or tassles and tiny bit of glue on the spine to hold them in place.

I bought Cardstock paper at Michaels. I think it was a 25 pack (multi neutral colors) and I got it on sale (a few weeks ago) for $1.88 !! I went to the store in Huntington on 110. What I am going to do is create my menu and then take it to Office Max to have them cut the paper so it looks more like a 'menu' than just a regular size 8' 11' paper.

Hi Jenn! I got my paper at Quick Picks on Rt. 110. It's kind of a paper warehouse, so you can touch and feel each slice o' paper you buy. They sell by the pound, so I suspect it might be slightly more expensive than buying a packet. The paper I bought is 80 lb and is unfortunately TOO thick to go through my printers at work...and I'm actually wondering the same thing as you in terms of Kinkos! My printer at home doesn't spin the paper through as many 'spindles' (if that's a word) but I have yet to try my menu and such through it (but its a simple, bubble jet and will probably take DAYS to finish all my printing). I hope any/some of this stuff helps! Good Luck!

That's a good idea! The programs we really liked (to have professionally done) are 5x5 but I was worried about cutting the paper myself.

Backinneyork-- I didn't even THINK about printing it out at work! Good idea

FYI, I called Staples and they said they won't cut it, but Office Max does. Also, if you're not in a rush, keep checking Michael's circulars for sales. I'm sure it will go on sale again. Good Luck.
