Shouldn't my avocado seed have sprouted by now???

i sliced off the bottom, popped some toothpicks in and have it sitting in water. but NOTHING!!! all my other stuff is germinating.

do you have a green thumb? 'cause there's a thread I posted earlier, that I maybe could use your help with.

as for your avocado seed not sprouting...how long have you had it in the water??

i looked at your post...i was like i can point out maybe one houseplant and you don't have it...hence, i DO NOT have a green thumb...but i'm trying

but anyways, the avocado has been in water for about a week.

nah... as long as your DH is better with His seed than you are with yours, you'll be fine

next time...leave it whole and let it dry out before you try to sprout it. And make sure there's none of the green 'skin' left on it. Also, you can't put the toothpicks too far in either, b/c that can do damage as well.
