Video Question: For those that did and didn't have them

If you didn't have it, do you feel you missed out on it?

If you did have it, how important to you is it and why?

Thanks!

I LOVE my video... I watched it 5 times already It is good to have those memories preserved.. it is different from the photos. There are just so many moments I forgot, and then watching the video brings them all back. Now...If I can ever figure out how to share my video, I would be glad to show you all.

Hi Jen... I LOVE my video, it captures the whole day into 2 hours worth of footage. Yes, it was expensive but worth it to see the whole day over again because I'm sure that day I missed what my Great Aunt was wearing!

To answer your question, it is very important to me and I wouldn't have had it any other way!

Re: Video Question: For those that did and didn't have them

We originally didn't want one. Then I started to think I would regret if we didn't have one. We decided we would spend no more than $1000 if we could find someone for that amount or less.

I've watched it many times and I am very happy to have it, especially since Hershey passed away and there's so much sweet footage of her

I didn't have one & don't regret it. I know I wouldn't want to be bothered picking songs & supllying still pictures & thigns like that. A sit is & jsut wnat my album doen with.

My uncle did take some video , which I am curious about ( he hasn't' put it on DVD yet), but even if I never see, that, I have pictures, so that is enough.

Also, our decision was not a financial one. Mayeb if moeny was te only reason we didnt' get one, I m ight have regretted it, but we don't like looking at ourselves & woudl have been even more self concious than we already were with the photographers.

I did have it, and I am SO HAPPY that I did! We've watched it COUNTLESS times. And MIL watches it Everyday! We gave copies to the parents. DH put the whole video on his PSP. It's like re-living the day over again. The wedding went by so fast, it was a blurr. But now I get tow watch the video and re-live it.

We are also in the process of making a website, and we will host the video on there for all of our friends and family to see.

Here is just the AMAZING opening that he did:

We had one and we're really happy we did - we've watched it a ton since we got it.

We didn't get anything fancy - no pictures of us, and we let the videographer pick out the songs....it wasn't really a bother and wasn't all that expensive in the scheme of things.

I always hear of people regretting not having one...

It's a personal choice

For me, it's VERY important. I think there is something about having a video of your day, that's just special. And, it's something I want to be able to share with our children, down the road. My neices and nephews LOVE watching their parents wedding tapes.

PLus, I feel as though the day just flew by and there was SOOOOO much that we missed. And with a video, you can see it all from a different perspective. I can not wait to get ours!!

I love my video. Its a great way to see things that you may have missed that day. Also, it will be great if my kids every want to see what it was like when we got married.

I agree with the reasons above and it's been great for my grandma, she's in a wheelchair so much of her view of the dance floor was blocked - she really enjoyed getting to see all the dances, etc.

We didnt have one and I dont regret it!
It was not a financial decision it was a personal one! DH and I are just not video people! At most weddings I find the camera people to be annoying and in the way. I have a video that a friend took of our ceremony/dances/ toast. I love looking at my photos, but have only watched teh video once and really have no desire to see it again!

It all depends on what your tastes are.

Re: Video Question: For those that did and didn't have them

I was really dead set against having one...i just hate to have them in face at other weddings and I wasnt interested in having it at my own wedding.

But a lot of other people swayed me to reconsder and when my husband said he wanted one, I didnt feel right refusing.

I AM SO HAPPY I GOT A VIDEO. Its not that I watch it everyday (Im just not that kind of person) but the cost of the video is so worth knowing that I can watch it whenever I want, my children will be able to see us get married and when Im old, I'll be able to look back on that wonderful day and see things as they happened.

I know it sounds extremely sappy...and Im not a sappy person...but the video was well worth it the minor annoyance of having a video camera follow us that day. I got a fairly basic one - just ceremony and reception and no extras - and the cost was reasonable. So happy I gave in on this one.

My video is VERY important to me!

It truly captured my wedding day. And, then I edited out the stuff I didn't like

Re: Video Question: For those that did and didn't have them

I love mine. I probably will not watch it often, but I feel like I cant wait for say 5 years to go by and watch it again...

I feellike it captured more of the wedding then the pictures ever could!!

I dont think you need a top quality video, but some type of video to capture the moments the pictures dont is a lot of fun to see afterwards and I cherish mine!

Re: Video Question: For those that did and didn't have them

we had a family friend tape the ceremony and special dances and stuff like that. i havent seen it yet... but honestly, Its the one thing i DO wish i had invested in. Even if it wasnt fancy, and just raw footage of the WHOLE thing.. its nice to see the things you may have missed. the day really does go by so fast, and i definately think its an investment worth making

Re: Video Question: For those that did and didn't have them

i am really glad we did video - there were so many moments i didnt see like the bp being introduced and the royal brass playing outside that i can see on the video ( we only have raw footage so far) it is so much different than photography it is alive and you get to see so much more of what was going on.
wouldnt trade it for the world am really gald we did it
