What did you do with your last name?

What did you do with your last name?

I chose not to change my name at all. I've heard from some people thought that this causes issues with insurance and when you have children.
What is everyone else doing?

I took dh's last name. But a lot of people hyphenate it.

I took my maiden name as my middle name and DH as my last. I plan on using my full name for everything- luckily they let me at SS and DMV here in CA.

I just change my last name. It was very hard for me because I have established alot in my maiden name. At first I wanted to keep it my last name but my husband didn't go for that.

I legally hyphenated, but never use it

I kept my middle name and added DH's to mine without a hyphen. I am Jean Marie Maiden Name Married Name....so I can use both or either whenever!

I am taking his last name and going to keep mine for my middle name. Doubt I'll ever use it, I just felt sad seeing it go.

Mine too, Hes not a big fan of the 'smith-jones' thing or of me keeping my maiden name

I'm traditional and old fashion w/certain things so I was very happy to take my husband's last name. It was also symbolic for me because I do not speak w/my parents-bad history so It was like a fresh start and emotional weight lifted off of me.

I haven't changed it legally but on our marriage license I just added his, no hyphen. My degrees are in my maiden name and all my work connections are too so I keep it professionally. I plan on having my drivers license have both, and credit cards, etc jsut have his. (procrastinate much)

He was not keen on me keeping my name but it's my identity.

I took DH last name. Its a total pain in the neck, especially with my military record, but I like the idea of a family sharing one name.

My mother had kept her name so my siblings and I were hyphenated. It was easier to take DH's last name... and I found it kind of romantic!

I changed my last name on the marriage license but haven't legally changed it. For me it's a professional thing. Just easier to keep my maiden name!! But I might change my mind once we decide to have kids!

mh dh took my last name! he had a failed marriage with his so we decided let's take mine

I legally hyphenated, but tend to use my maiden name. Once we have children, I think I will use his name more often.

I took his. Its the longest oddest name and it isnt read how it spelled! But i took it anyway
