Weird ? but... Newlyweds w/ IBS - ?

How was your stomach the morning of your wedding? Lately my stomach (IBS) has been bad- it's made me late for things & is becoming an obstacle again. I think my nerves are contributing to it. I just don't want my day to be ruined.
Any advice?

Im not a newlywed but I have IBS as well. I was wondering how I will be on my day. I mean I want to eat, but at the same time I dont want to have issues!
My doctor prescribed a pill for it but it says not to combine with alcohol and that it causes drowsiness. Maybe I will just pop an Immodium just in case

That is one thing that I worry about also. I haven't been diagnosed with IBS because I stopped going for all the testing they were putting me through but I have the worst stomach. I doubt I will be able to eat a thing that day. I will be way to scared. Plus when I am nervous my stomach automatically hurts. I just pray I'll be ok.

Oh my god. I thought I was the only one. I am not eating the day before at all - just small portions. I also am going to be taking Imodium. I have the worst stomach also and I am a very nervous person. My mom said 'we're gonna have to make you wear Depends'. She is nuts!!!

I have the same problem with my stomache and nerves. But the morining of the wedding I didn't have one problem. You are so pre-occupied iwth everything that you don't even have time to be nervous. I also ate my dinner at the reception, but the only thing I didn't eat was the dessert. So don't worry girls you will all be fine.

Irritable Bowel Syndrome.

Good luck girls... My Mom had this severe... I know what you're going through...not first hand but through her. I'll say a prayer for each and every one of you.

Oh my god I thought I was the only one.
It's been so bad the last month but I know it
has to do with the wedding and since it's getting
so close. I'm just nervous for the morning on.

Ok I have this and really BAD!!! the night before we had our rehearsal dinner- well I was feeling pretty good during the day so I decided to eat some salad- yes - salad and dressing gets me sick- so lets just say I was on the bowl all night and really nervous for the wedding-
that morning I refused to take immodium- it bloats me and then I cant go for like a week and the pill my doc prescribed- you cant drink- so I drank 8 bottles of 16 oz water in 2 hours time- and yes I had to keep running to pee as my hairdresser was doing my hair but by noon I was ok - NOW you HAVE to do this at least 8 hours before the ceremony or you will be running to pee during your ceremony- and I ate a plain bagel- it got me through the day and I was sooooooooo happy- on the altar my nerves were going bonkers I couldnt look up when the priest was saying his speech. I just kept looking at the restroom sign ( to the side of the altar) and kept saying tomyself- dont you dare embarrass yourself , I meditated to keep me calm, and tried to listen to my ceremony at the same time- it was really hard. Once you are at your hall and the ceremony is over you will be so busy you wont have time to think about it- my other problem too was it was sooo hard just to pee- so I didnt eat much at all at dinner- I was afraid of having to run and umm stain my dress!!!! but it turned out ok- so now if I could only do that all the time- control it- I wish

We once had a thread on this... a lot of girls have it and were worried about their stomach's the day of the wedding. I'll see if I can find it!

Ok, I found the thread but I'm LIW challenged when inserting the thread into a post... it's on NWR, maybe someone can do it for me.

Good Luck

You all are not alone - I have IBS too. My doctor also prescribed a pill for me - I was curious what other prescriptions you all have tried for IBS? I've actually heard that the best treatment for it is hypnotherapy. Don't think I'm crazy but I might try it!

Please let us know if you do try the hypnotherapy...I have UC, which is a bit too serious to have that work, but my sister has IBS and she has the tapes but hasn't gotten around to using them. She needs some convincing!

I find that when situations are really overwhelming, my mind takes over my body and I feel fine...until it's all over. Personally, I'm more worried about my honeymoon!

I will definitely let you all know if I take the hypnotherapy and whether it helped or not. I'm sure we are all going to be just fine on our big days

Not to be gross, but I made sure my dress has a zipper instead of a corset back so i can get out of quick enough to get to the potty. You aren't alone!

Not weird at all! So nice to see I'm not alone!!! (but I'm very sorry any of us have to deal with this, let alone think about it)
Even when I think I am 'calm' my stomach lets me know otherwise. It basically ties up in a knot and there is NO movement whatsoever, if you know what I mean. I'm really worried about this for the week before the wedding. I try to exercise regularly (which helps), but seriously, it really interferes sometimes!!!!!!!!! Any suggestions VERY welcome.
So sad. I'm 30 and take Citrucel everyday
