Re: The OFFICIAL WE/I DO Letters Thread
I have a question for you ladies:
Do you prefer spray on paint or brush on for the I DO letters?

Re: The OFFICIAL WE/I DO Letters Thread
I guess it really depends on the letters that you have. Mine were raised with a three layers (see first post above, second pic) so I used two colors. I would recommend brushing the paint on. If the letters are one dimensional, I would say spray painting is easier.

Mine are just like yours.

I would definitely suggest brushing then. I just got two of those cheap sponge brushes. One was very small so I could get into that second layer without messing up the top and bottom. Worked out just fine!

Yeah, I started painting the backs and I've already used 4 coats of paint and I can still see the wood grains. I don't think I like my paint. I think I'm going to buff it off with sand paper and try a different type of paint. Do you think it's okay to do that? I haven't started the front yet.

Is it that the wood grains are dark? I have a few rough patches on the letters, but they arent really nocticeable unless you stare at them. Then again I have all those rhinestones on them, that I dont even notice it anymore

Yeah, on the D the wood grains are dark. But it was the best looking D that Michaels's had. I didn't think it would be so difficult to paint. The I and O are okay, but I don't like the texture from the original paint.

Re: The OFFICIAL WE/I DO Letters Thread
I have been using paint specific for wood and paper (I dont' think it's acrylic). I have some white acrylic paint though, and I think I'm going to try that. Any suggestions?

Re: The OFFICIAL WE/I DO Letters Thread
I just used the craft paint that's like less than $2. I finished it off with a pearl shimmer craft paint. I think I used about 2 coats and it looked fine.
