Question - did you get ALL of your 'must-take' pics?

and did you use a DOC or not?? A post I read on BHB has me wondering...

I did not have a DOC and I got most, not all, of my must-take pics.

No DOC, and yes, we got most of our must-takes. Our photographer was very anti setting a shot up, and believed it needed to happen naturally. I managed to get most, though. He was right....things like that do tend to just happen.

got many, but not all, must-take pics (Most notably, we asked for a pic of each BP member and their spouse/gf; one was missing. We also asked for pictures of every table; half were missing.)

I had a DOC.

Nope, no DOC and Nope - didn't get all of my must-takes

I don't even have a full-length shot of me in my dress by myself!

No DOC and didn't get all my must-take pics.......even though we went over it with the photographer 1 week before the wedding. I didn't get a pick of me with myh sis and bro or just me and my bro :( I am sooooo upset about that!!!!! I didn't realize it until we were getting ready to leave the hall. It makes me so upset to think that I don't have a good pic of me and my brother...we are very close.

Also, missed some other family shots that I wanted....like me and my grandparents.

No DOC and I didn't make a 'list' so no, I didn't get all my Must Takes done.

I didn't have a DOC, and my wedding was fabulous!

I made a must take photo list and my photographer missed only 1 shot that I requested (DH with the bridesmaids). but we got 2x more pics than I was hoping for, no complaints!!

I notice a lot of brides getting DOCs now. I am sure they are great, but my attitude (no flames...just my opinion!) is that this wedding is your baby. You work on it so long, know how you want everything...why pass it off to someone the day of AND spend all that money? I guess if you really do not want to be bothered with any questions or deliveries (flowers, etc) then great...but I don't know. It wasn't for me.

I agree.

I had a relatively small wedding and couldn't justify spending the $$ on a DOC. My Maitre D was amazing! she handled everything for me and set up the reception room EXACTLY how I wanted it to be. and she got a big fat tip for it

looking back, there are very few minor things that I would have changed about my wedding. I guess I lucked out, because my wedding was MORE than I ever thought it would be.

no regrets here

No DOC and no 'list' either. So I had no 'must take' shots, but my photographers did a great job at capturing my day. The pictures really do tell a story, which is what I wanted.

I hired a DOC because I wanted 100% of the time on the wedding day to be stress-free for myself, DH, our parents and the BP. I didn't want to have to ask a single guest to do anything for us.

I've been to weddings in which I've watched brides dealing with hall payments, stressed out with no recourse for late vendors, asking relatives to do things like count the guests, hold the money bag, distribute tips and final payments, gather up cameras, extra favors and CPs, and line up the BP for the ceremony. I've always found it off-putting to see the bride and groom dealing with the business of the wedding during the wedding and reception.

Most of my vendors were fine on the day of, but I was very happy to hand over the responsibility of making sure the logistics ran smoothly to a DOC.

Two instances come to mind that made having a DOC completely worthwhile -- 20 minutes after the florist delivered the Bks, they called and wanted to know what to do with the church flowers because they couldn't get into the church two hours before the Mass and they had another delivery to make and couldn't make a return trip. My DOC wouldn't even let me near the phone. I have no idea what happened to get the flowers there, just that they were there when I walked down the aisle. The second was that my photographer approached me about an hour before the reception was to end and asked if I wanted any more pictures taken before he left. DH and I kept saying, 'talk to our DOC,' we called her over and walked away while she dealt with him and got him to stay.

I absolutely did not have one of those, 'I love my DOC, she's my best friend and went dress shopping with me' experiences. The one I used is pretty popular on this site and I feel comfortable that my expreience with her was no where near as good as other brides'. In the end, she did her job and helped to make the day as streee-free as possible for us.

Yes, DOC - no did not get all the must takes, but that's our fault - we got tired of taking pics and wanted to join the fun.

I 'won' the services of a DOC at this years WOTY. I did get all my must takes done but it wasnt because of her....I went over the list with my photographers a few days before and they were both VERY good with taking everything I wanted.

We got a lot but I too was missing some, like my mom brother and I and then just my immediate family..
I also wanted one of my oldest group of friends but the night went so quick I never looked back at my list..
I really want to get dressed again and take pictures w/ my mom and bro

Re: Question - did you get ALL of your 'must-take' pics?

We got pretty much everything we asked for, and I did not have a DOC. I would have liked more photos of my parents and the entire wedding party at the reception, but we definitely had some, and they were good.

I just made a list of all the possible combinations of photos I wanted and gave that to the photographer. He made sure all were taken. None of the big moments were missed--kiss, cake cutting, toast, etc.

All of ours were taken. We didn't have a big list either. Only two and a vague one...all details. They did a terrific job.

We had a DOC, but she didn't have anything to do with it.

I did not have a DOC and I got almost all of my requested shots. I know they took all of them, but some just did not come out. They did all of the configurations I asked for though.
