Re: DOnation favors -- how did you word it??
we donated to the lance armstrong cancer fund... my dad is a cancer survivor, my aunt has cancer, both my grandpas and dhs grandpa passed away from cancer... just a little background... on the tags we put ' to honor our loved ones affected by cancer, a donation has been made to the lance armstong cancer fund' and then our names and the date.... short and simple

Re: DOnation favors -- how did you word it??
I went to a wedding, where they gave us the cancer 'livestrong' bracelets along with a personal home made donation annoucement, it was very touching..and by the end of the reception everyone was wearing their bracelets...
you can do ribbons or pins or anything that goes along with your donation

Re: DOnation favors -- how did you word it??
This is what we are using
To Our Family & Friends
With much thought & consideration, we have chosen a special way to say “Thank You’ for sharing our wedding day with us.
In lieu of a traditional wedding favor, we have made donations to the American Diabetes Association & National Parkinson Foundation in memory of Raymond & Gertrude.
We feel the finest gift is one which helps others live longer and healthier lives.
We truly appreciate your being part of our special day.
Love, Kristen & Jason March 31, 2006

Dear Family and Friends
Thank you for being part of our special day. In Lieu of a traditional wedding favor, we have made a special donation to:
The American Heart Association
In memory of George W. Kozlowski
The American Heart Association is a national voluntary health agency whose mission is to reduce disability and death from cardiovascular disease and stroke.
With more than one million Americans dyeing from heart disease each year, there is a significant community of patients, family members, caregivers, and friends who all share scientists’ hope that many of these deaths can be prevented.
With all our love, Lu-Ann & Christopher February 17, 2006

Re: DOnation favors -- how did you word it??
I went to a wedding where the couple donated to the MS Society
On a scroll it said:
In lieu of a favor, a donation has been made to the Multiple Sclerosis society in memory of XX XX.
That was followed by a statement about the MS society and its main function. The scroll was tied with ribbon and on the knot, they attached a pin from the MS society.

Re: DOnation favors -- how did you word it??
I am so in love with this idea!!!! I really want to do it and donate to a Colon Cancer foundation (My fiance's mom died of colon CA).....but my mom isn't keen on the idea. She actually said 'egh, people want to leave with a little something'...i am so mad and, pretty much heart broken. I think i might just overrule her and do it anyway.

You can always attach a small something (edible maybe) to the donation card
