My wedding is a ways off, but I wanted to start looking now for tattoo cover-up makeup. Looking at the dresses on the market, there is no way to cover a large tattoo I have between my shoulderblades without using makeup. I honestly do not want to cover-up my beautiful art, but both of my grandparents will flip out if they see it.
So, does anyone know of a good product that you've used before?

Try Jaqueline Nicole. She is a make-up vendor on this site. She does airbrush makeup. She airbrushed the base onto your skin and bc it comes out as a fine mist it sticks to the pores better and lasts all day long! I would totally give that a shot. Let it dry and it shouldn't get onto your gown at all!

I cannot use airbrushing. My skin is very sensitive. I used to do airbrushing when I did theater and I had too many problems. Plus, I've heard that airbrushing cannot do anything for tattoos.

The problem is, I want mine to show. However, my mother has explained that I have no choice in my own wedding, so the tattoos must be hidden.

Re: Tattoo cover-up
Almost everyone in my Bridal Party has tattoos. My Maid of Honour has sleeves. I'm not making any of them cover anything. I'm just trying to find a dress that covers it on its own so I do not have to hear it anymore. However, the only one I've found that I love that would cover it is $15,000. Sorry, I won't pay that much for a dress I wear only once.
I just wish my mother would be more helpful than demanding. I have no say in any aspect of my own wedding. I'm ready to elope.

Re: Tattoo cover-up
try dermablend I bought it for my tat and it covers it well... you just have to know how to apply it well You can go to the make-up counters in the mall... they should have it... but Dermablend has it's own counter for their products... I bought 2 tubes of different color/skin tones and 1 setting powder and I paid $55. And I tried before buying and it works.

Im not supposed to have tattoos either. I have 4 but only one would have shown. I really didnt want to have to think about make up. I honestly dont think it works all that well and knowing myself, I would have worried about it all night.
This is what I did to solve the problem:

Re: Tattoo cover-up
Now THIS dress was the dress I wanted. It covered the tattoo perfectly but was out of my range. If I would have had the money, I would have spent it:
Since your wedding is a ways off, you may wish to consider having your dress made. A few relatives of mine did that at thebridal building in Manhattan and it wasnt as bad as you would think. When I shopped for my dress, I mentioned that any dress they took out should cover the tattoo. They had a total of MAYBE 5 or 6 dresses that would work.
Another suggestion. I would also go to Kleinfeld in the city. They do have a large religious clientele that require very modest dresses. If the dress doesnt come a certain way, they can modify it so that your needs are met. It will cost a bit more than an original price but it is certainly worth investigating. Just tell them when you call for an appointment that you will need a specialist.
