To the 07'ers from the 06'ers........with love
Ladies this post comes a few days early before your big year begins, just a few words of advice from us already married girls.....
First, enjoy EVERY moment not only of your day, but all the parties, RD and hm....the entire time flies by so fast, and before you know it you are back from your hm & looking at your proofs!
The week of your wedding, just let go...at that point whatever will be, will be. Don't stress the small stuff (things are bound to go wrong, but keep the big picture in mind---at the end of the day the only true thing that matters is you are marrying the love of your life, not that the cp flowers were only partially open).
Don't stress the weather, I was on every weather site for 2 weeks before my wedding and went through every emotion as torrential downpours were forecast-- but as the week went on, it kept getting downgraded to rain; to possible showers; to partially cloudy, to the mostly sunny day that we had. You cannot change the weather, so don't let it control your day. No matter what, your day will be beautiful; and if it rains, there were so many brides that took wonderful pictures in the rain, that wouldn't have been as dramatic if the sun was shining.
Also, be sure to tell your dad (or whoever is lifting your veil) to be sure to smooth it down. My dad didn't & my MOH didn't realize until after our vows so it is all weird on the video and blocking my face.
After the day PICTURES are what you have of that day; have total FAITH in your photographer and if you don't, keep looking! Be very specific with what you want, provide them with a list and have someone have a copy of that list to kind of keep a mental picture of those pics that are truly impt to you to get taken. If you are splurging on one thing, make your photographer, IT.
Also if you are contemplating a videographer, but aren't sure, go for it. You can't go back, once the day is done.
EAT! We regret not eating during our CH, b/c everyone is grabbing you and talking to you--we should have set aside 10 minutes to sit down & truly enjoy the amazing food. We did eat our dinner though---you are served first, so sit down & eat & then you can go around to the tables (if you are doing this).
At some point during the day step back and take it all in, look around, memorize every little detail from that moment---after the big day THIS is what you are going to remember and hold onto.
Remember the wedding is only ONE day in a lifetime of moments, don't get so caught up in your day that you forget the love you have for each other and the lifetime ever after.
Love you girls....may you all have a beautiful wedding day and many happy memories. ENJOY YOUR YEAR, before long it'll be you guys posting this same post to the 08 girls, believe me!!!!! It flies by!!!!!!!
