My story: One day in class about 3 years ago i was daydreaming and flipping through my cell phone calendar when i stumbled upon 07/07/07. I thought 'Oh...that's so cute. What a memorable day that would make. If things go well with the boyfriend i shall get married THAT day!' Ever since then everyone around me knew that i had 'picked out' my wedding date. Thanks to my wonderful FH he made sure that he proposed in time for me to go fulfill my dream! But if you look you see that my date is 07/08/07! Yes...sadly and with ALOT of convincing from family and FH, i had to sacrifice for the day after due to budget reasons. Since 07/07/07 falls upon a Saturday, choosing the next day, Sunday, made about a $15-20 per person difference! To those girls getting married on 'MY day' ( )...i am extremely jealous! You are really LUCKY!

I'm getting married Sept. 2, 2007. I choose September because the weather would still be warm, but not unbearable like the summer. Of course it could still be hot that day...my parents got married on Sept. 3 and it was 100 degrees!
My sister also got married in September so I guess I'm just continuing the family tradition :)

Because our venue had that day open? Seriously, we were thinking of September, but my fiance said one day, 'why not May?' and I said, 'OK.' But Timber Point didn't have any open Sundays in May, but they did have the first in June. So we took it. Never occured to me to get married in June, I thought it was the busiest month. But so far we haven't had trouble booking anything. I guess that's because it's a Sunday afternoon.

When my FH and I got engaged in 2005 I looked at the calender and said I want to get married on 7/7/07, 777 has been my fav number since I was little, my first aol screenname was prinses777...
So then when I saw it ended up on a sat I was excited! So we booked mostly everything within 2-3 months knowing that it would be a popular day, I guess before most vendors realized the numbers on the day, even still to this day, when a vendor ask when I am getting married I say July 7th becuase it doesn't click.

MY SIL is like you. She likes the numbers.
As for me DH and I wanted a Christmas wedding and since most of my cousins and my brother were still going to be away at school we picked 12/17 instead of 12/10 (the original date we wanted). This way they would already be home.

We wanted a Saturday and ironically we share the same birthday and it just so happened that our Birthday in 2007 fell on a Saturday so we just had to do it!! Our wedding and birthdays on the same day!

We both work at a college, so we knew we wanted to avoid the academic year. June wasn't good for my family b/c of my dad's job, July seems too hot, and FH and I get busy with preping for the new semester in August. So that left May, after our students graduate!
On a side note, both my parents and the FIL's anniversary is May 25, so they both wanted us to get married on that day. We wanted a Saturday, and a special day just for us.

I chose my day because I wanted a Spring wedding but it was much cheaper than April...April 6th was still the same amount but it was Good Friday...a no no for my Catholic family! So there you have it! the next week in april was $15 pp more!

We really wanted a summer wedding and being alot of my little cousins who will be in the WP will be graduating in june that year we decided to do it in July. We wanted July 12 a saturday but it worked out better to have sunday! So were getting married July 13, 2008!!!

I just really wanted a fall wedding. So I waited and watched this past fall until the leaves had changed enough and I turn to FH and said ok, let's book the last weekend of October! I really wanted Sat. but it was TOO much. Sun. saved us $20 a person!

Well we both had decided we wanted to get married in May...For the wedding i wanted weather in the low 70's plus i like May, he likes it bc his parents got married in May too...we went back and forth on different dates in May, for different reasons we couldn't do the other dates and then May 17 was fine and it was one available at our RH...After we booked we realized that 5+17=22 which is his number and hes obsessed with it lol...Plus coincidentally alot of things that are wedding related revolves around 22.

Because the church and both RHs we were considering had that date / time open.
We wanted July or August so we could get married before my parents retire / move off LI.

We were trying to aim for a time of year when the weather was cooler so we could appreciate a warm honeymoon destination!
Jan-Feb were shot down by my mom because of the chance of snow (although it can snow in Dec too but, whatever), March doesn't work for FIL because he plays the bagpipes, October is the world series so DH said no so it left November and December... I liked December 2 because it was far enough from Christmas that usually it's an 'off' weekend for a lot of people.

We went into West Sayville looking for a November date. Then we realized that we would not be able to get to see the beautiful sunsets they have there in that month, so they went and check the book to see what dates were still available in the earlier months. And then, a wonderful surprise, September 7 was still open. That was the ONLY date left in September. At that point, my mother started to cry, because she realized that was going to be the date, and it was meant to be.

Well, we got engaged on July 4, so we knew we wanted a july 4th weekend wedding!
Plus July 4th is my favorite time of year!

We wanted a fall or close to fall date that was a sunday of a three day weekend, because FW is from Dallas and we had a lot of OOTers. We needed a Sunday because we're Jewish. We had been thinking about the long weekend of October, but then my real close friend took it
so it was labor day or veteran's day weekend, and we're labor folks, and FW is a teacher so labor day would mean she had time to plan.
Not very exciting, pretty pragmatic on our part.

We both wanted to get married in October and a Saturday was definitely out of the question because of $$ so we wanted October 7th (which is the Sunday before Columbus Day) BUT all the halls were quoting us Saturday rates. When we made our final decision on RH, they asked us 'Why not November' (since it tends to be cheaper than October) so we picked the first Sunday in November. Our dating anniversary is also in November so it kinda worked out better.

I picked 10/13 because it was the closest I could get to the date we first said 'I love you' (it was 10/11)
