Why/How did you choose your WEDDING DATE?

My story: One day in class about 3 years ago i was daydreaming and flipping through my cell phone calendar when i stumbled upon 07/07/07. I thought 'Oh...that's so cute. What a memorable day that would make. If things go well with the boyfriend i shall get married THAT day!' Ever since then everyone around me knew that i had 'picked out' my wedding date. Thanks to my wonderful FH he made sure that he proposed in time for me to go fulfill my dream!
But if you look you see that my date is 07/08/07! Yes...sadly and with ALOT of convincing from family and FH, i had to sacrifice for the day after due to budget reasons. Since 07/07/07 falls upon a Saturday, choosing the next day, Sunday, made about a $15-20 per person difference!
To those girls getting married on 'MY day' ( )...i am extremely jealous! You are really LUCKY!

School break and my family was on vacation during the same time. So.. CONVENIENCE!!!

we after hound FH to help me pick a date...he was playing a video game one night and said 11-11-07 in a movie anouncer voice and after checking what day it fell on ...I was like ya know it's not that bad! has a nice ring to it and it's easy for him to remember

he also then wanted to know if we would still keep our 'other' anniversary 7/14 ...I say why not double the fun

We decided we wanted a decade celebration so we chose our 10 yr anniversary

I have always wanted a June wedding and Spring is my favorite season. I was insistent on having it on a Saturday and DH wanted it at night. So that left us with 3 dates to work with (bc the last Saturday in June is technically Summer).

The 3rd is one of my BMs b-days so I didn't want to do it then and I realized that the 17th wouldn't be good either. So I decided it would be the 10th, plus I love the look of 6/10/06!!!!!!!!

we wanted a summer wedding, but not when it's REALLY hot... so july and august was out.

This leaves june and sept. FH wanted it to be 9/06, but we only got engaged 7 months earlier and I told him I would have a meltdown.... so it was postponed to june 07. The actual date was selected becuase both the church and hall were free, and we wanted a Sat wedding......

It's also the week of my parent's wedding.... 40 years later

we wanted 5-3-08 because we wanted the first weekend in may. we wanted to start off the month with a bang and the flowers are georgous that time of year

FH & I met in August so we wanted to get married on that anniversay but could not get a dat...so we ended up just staying in the month the month of August

I got engaged 3-11-05 and everything was booked that month. When I booked Villa Lombardi's, for the year 2006, they only had a few dates available [and here it is just into 2006!] So I was looking for summer of 2006, prefereably July, and I always wanted to get married on Fourth of July, or 4th of July weekend. a Friday or Saturday wedding didnt matter much to me, and when the banuqet manager - the onlt date he had available all summer of 2006, was 1 date in July, [7-7-06] and one date in end of August and one date on Sept 11. There was something that just stuck in my mind about 7-706, and I said, THATS IT! THATS THE DATE! and my mom and my FH totally looked at me and bugged out, and my mom said a Sept wedding would be beautiful too! And I said no no 7-7-06! thats it! It was something that just clicked in my head! then the Banquet Manager offered us 7-7-07, but me, being impatient, I didn't want to wait that long! I dunno, i can't describe it- it was just something that clicked with me rightaway!!!!! My FH and my mom were kind like 'ok 7-7-06 it is!' they just knew I always loved July and it was my fave month!!!!!

Because we wanted a small wedding we needed to choose a Sunday because of the minimums (75p on sun & 125p on sat) And my FH wanted to go to Hawaii in June because it's the best weather or something at that time. So when the guy at the hall showed us the calendar I couldn't think of any other day to choose except June 10th ! We got engaged on June 10th 2005 so it would be exactly 2 yrs to the date.

We chose Nov 4, 2007 because it is the same day he proposed (Nov 4, 2006)

Our dating anniversary is January 31st. I originally wanted to get married on our anniversary, but it landed on a Wednesday this year, and I really didn't like the idea of getting married in the cold. I always wanted to be a June bride so we decided on June 30 (close to the anniversary #) 1. It's much warmer 2. I always loved the month of June 3. FH's vacation from work falls the week after, so he doesn't need to take off from work for the honeymoon. So that's how we ended up with June 30, 2007

I would have loved to get married on our 6 year anniversary, but it fell on a Thursday this year .... we had our hearts set on a Saturday night.

We have a bunch of close family & friends who are OOT so we wanted a holiday weekend.

And we both love the fall (not too hot, not too cold)

The potential for a really hot September ruled out Labor Day weekend. Columbus Day was booked already at a few places, and is also the same weekend that 2 of my cousins got married.

So, Veteran's Day weekend it was!

(not everyone has off, but at least some people do!)

LOL we picked 7//7/07 lOl because my birthday is 7/08 we thought we can have a double celebration.. I really ddint' realize the whole 7/7/7 thing i thought it was just cool

Also being a teacher limits when you can get married..

It falls between football and baseball season. we are HUGE sports fans.

Plus, we wanted it to be cold out in NY to appreciate the honeymoon more.

I knew that I wanted spring so we were thinking May or June. Then when we went to look at halls it was cheaper in April so we decided that last weekend in April would be nice and it is two days after our dating Anniversary!

we didnt really have our minds set on one date...one of my friends stole our anniversary date....and is getting married on 3-28 (gina!) but we weren't going to pick that date anyway since its the day after my bday

then we wanted something in the fall on the 28th...but there werent too many options

so then we were going with 10-18-08 because that combines our fave #s (we didnt have anything else to go on)...but we ended up picking 11-26-08 because we couldnt pass up the offer we received and im totally excited.

I always joke thta I have the best birthday ever - I was born cinco de mayo 1969... a day made for margaritas and a year made for sex.

So when I realized we could get married on my birthday i jumped on it!

I also wanted 7-7-07, but had to settle for 7-1-07... although I like my date too.. very easy to remember. I love the summer and I wanted an easy number for FH to remember. hehe
