Vendor Rave: Calligraphy by Michele Clark
I sent my envelopes to Michele Clark in Staten Island for calligraphy and got them back yesterday. They are absolutely BEAUTIFUL!
I seriously cannot say enough good things about the work she did for us and how nice it was dealing with her! Her prices are also amazing -- way, way less than any other hand calligraphy artists I contacted. Actually, even less than some places wanted for computer printing. And, can I just say that the quality of the work was outstanding?!
Someone on her recommended her and I was a little hesitant just mailing my envelopes off to someone I'd never met... but Michele was so nice, professional, and responsive via email, I felt comfortable sending her my envelopes. She said she would work on them this week (13 - 19). She finished them early (Tuesday) and they were back in my hands yesterday!
I will definitely be using her for our place cards and/or favor tags. She was just such a pleasure to work with!
I'll also add this -- She proved to me she's a very honest vendor. I used computer wedding planning software that automatically generates a list for the calligraphy artist in MS Word. I had deleted a few duplicates and a few other people from the list in the software program before generating the table. The table and software program number each invitation for you automatically. What I did not realize was that when you delete someone, it just deletes their number -- it does NOT update all the other numbers. (E.g., if I delete #3, the list goes 1, 2, 4, etc.) My list appeared to go from 1-96 invites, but since I had deleted people, there were only 90 invites. Michele caught the mistake and brought it to my attention. Yes, it's a small thing and I probably wouldn't have ever noticed (and if I had, I wouldn't have said anything) -- but I truly appreciate that she was honest about. She even renumbered my entire list for me.
So there's my (probably way too long) mini-review. FM if you'd like her contact info!
