Maybe you could try a private room of a restaurant or a site like an art gallery.

I second Fox Hollow - I just booked for a Sat afternoon in Oct. 08 and it came to $102 pp with tax, grat/ included - in the beautiful Winter Garden Pavilion - but I was quoted a price of $59pp (plus tax and grat) for March of '08.

Congrats on the impending engagement ... I know very well how exciting that waiting period is! (And frustrating sometimes, I was dating for over 5 years before he popped the question!)

the west sayville country club was cute and i think it might be by water....<$100 per person

I've been to a few weddings at West Sayville Country Club, and they were all great! Actually, many of the Lessings facilities would fall w/in your budget - Timber Point, Smithtown Landing, Tall Grass and the Riverview restaurant.

Good luck!

Try Douglaston Manor...they are absolutely beautiful in the summer as well as during the winter. I know that they just built an atrium that can do bothe ceremonies and reception.

Crest Hollow off-season and on an off-day (sunday) will definitely work on the price. Plus, they really give you a lot of bang for your buck.
