Does anyone have any good butterfly ideas? I am doing a remembrance of my sister the passed away and the butterfly is a symbol of her and anything that can have a butterfly will have a butterfly.
first that cake is beautiful! my cousin did a butterfly theme too it was really cute - she had invitations with butterflies on them and in her bouquet (I made it) I put little butterflies in there too. She incorporated them into her centerpieces too! It all looked great!

that cake is cute i think that would work for me. also if you search butterfly plantable paper and read up on them. I am using them as my favors. you plant the butterfly paper and it grows wildflowers that attract butteflies. I thought that was really cute.

I incorporated some butterflies in remembrance of my father. They are how I know he is around. Here was one of my favors- butterfly shaped seed paper from swallowtail farms. They came with a thick ribbon I didn't like (you can see in first pic), so I changed them to a thinner organza ribbon (second pic) and third pic is pro pic.
They came with a small strip of directions, which I attached to the back of my own message I typed up and included inside the vellum envelope. This was what I put:
'Love is in bloom! (this was a line that came from our invitations)
Butterflies symbolize hope. They also hold a special meaning to us as they are representative of the memory of my father, Tom ____.
Plant this seed paper both in his memory, and to celebrate our love and new beginnings. Watch wildflowers bloom as they attract butterflies to your garden. Thank you for sharing this important day with us. Enjoy your blooming memento of this special day!'

OMG That is so cute... I will definatly keep that in mine. We both lost several people in our lives that we wish would have been able to share this special day with us.

Brian and Marie did a private butterfly release with her and DH, you could do it in front of guests.
Or...bouquetjewels.com has a Mariposa jewel, which is a butterfly. So pretty.
Easy ways to incorporate it are taking sil butterflies and inserting them into your centerpieces, using butterfly inspired favors, having your FG wear a pair of butterfly wings and a wreath of flowers on her head.
Invites with vellum and butterflies.
I like this idea-putting silk butterlies into your hair or the BP. I have also seen butterfly headpieces and jewlery and veils with butterfly applices delicately scattered throughout.
I saw that Jess posted some pics of our private release, but we also had the guests release butterlies as we were pronounced husband and wife! We used swallowtailfarms.com They also have tons of stuff for favors!! Goodluck!!
