Our wedding day was absolutely incredible, and we could not have asked for anything more!
There were a couple of hiccups, but nothing that affected any of our guests ... nothing that could have possibly been noticed by anyone ....
I will post a real review after we get back from the honeymoon, but here's a quick synopsis of the day.
TUXEDOS - While all the men looked beyond handsome (especially my HUSBAND!), there were tons of issues with the pick up of a few of the tuxedos. They tried to give some of the GMs the wrong style shirt, and my Dad & Grandpa's tuxedos didn't fit. Alterations were taken care of on site, but this was after some arguments & words between my Dad & one of the workers at the tux shop. We really thought this vendor was perfect until the pick-ups, and I am really disappointed after all the wonderful things I'd read about them on here ... and I recommended them so highly to so many people prior to the wedding! DH was so frustrated by the situation, my Dad was livid by how they tried to cut corners and how they treated them the morning of our wedding, and I hope no one else runs into the same kinds of problems with them.
HAIR & MAKE UP - Mia was awesome, arrived promptly and was a genius. Everyone looked gorgeous, and I felt like a total PRINCESS!!
COORDINATOR - I had the absolute pleasure of having Eliana as my DOC, and I don't think I could have gotten through the day without her. She is a true angel, and kept everything in order and moving smoothly. She kept me calm & fed through out the morning ... and helped set up for the ceremony, handed out programs, and just helped make my vision of a perfect wedding come true. If you have not hired a DOC yet, CALL HER!!!!!!!!!!!!
LIMOS - One of our limos got stuck in the MUD at Old Westbury Gardens, causing our GMs and the GROOM to get out of their limo to try to PUSH the limo out in their TUXEDOS![]()
. When that didn't work, all 12 of us crammed into the other limo that was made to hold 8 people. It made us all a bit wrinkled for later pics, ceremony & reception, and uncomfortable for the ride .... but fortunately no one got covered in mud. Hopefully the limo company will do something to compensate for the trouble, we will see. We were a little late getting to NRC for pics, but it wasn't the major disaster that it could have been.
FLOWERS - The florist added the tulle to the ceiling, which looked beautiful, but they forgot to add the lights. Again, not something anyone other than us & our parents noticed ... but it wasn't what was ordered. The flowers were gorgeous, we were all blown away by how beautiful they were.
MUSIC - Spin Around Sound was our DJ, and they were PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Absolutely incredible. I think Tom is the best MC that ever lived, he handled everything perfectly ... and even helped us juggle around the protocol on the spot so things happened when we felt ready for them. He was such a calming presence, and we both felt like we were in great hands with them. They played the perfect blend of music that kept everyone happy with a crowd ranging in age from 8 years old to over 90 years old, and made sure we were in the room when our special requests were played! And we got to hear Guster & Better Than Ezra during our dinner course!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OFFICIANTS - Msgr. Lisante & Rabbi Block created the most beautiful, most memorable ceremony ever. It felt warm, and was very personal to us both. They worked wonderfully together, and smoothed over any tension that our guests might have been feeling about the 'interfaith thing'. They managed to be spiritual and funny, all at the same time. Everyone was very impressed, especially our parents!
CEREMONY & RECEPTION - And we were also amazed by how wonderful North Ritz was. Everyone always says how top-notch they are but, man! They were totally outstanding, and they really out did themselves. We could not have asked for more ... some of our OOT guests thought the cocktail hour was the dinner -- and were shocked when they were brought into the ballroom for more. The food was excellent. Our Maitre'd George was on top of everything, and our Bridal Assistant Monica was like our best friend for the night. Their 'Dessert Cafe' was totally outrageous. Anyone getting married there has NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
