FH and I decided that we are going to blow up photos of deceased grandparents and hang them on an easel at the reception. So it will seem as though we can be reminded that they are there in spirit. What do you think??

I did a memory table. With their pictures in matching frams and a poem- that also listed their names. Here is a picture

Re: Pictures of the deceased at reception....
I ''borrowed'' this from someone on here. (sorry I don''t remember who)
I printed it on this nice sky paper that I got from Michaels that looks like heaven
Although we cannot see you We know that you are here Smiling down, watching over us As we say “I DO” Forever in our hearts Forever in our lives An so we say our vows In loving Memory of you:

Re: Pictures of the deceased at reception....
Word of advice if you are going to do this- we took all the pictures to Target and had them make reprints- no negatives needed- and used those- you couldn''t tell. I was just worried that heaven forbid something happened to them or they got lost etc- so I had the originals at home!!

Re: Pictures of the deceased at reception....
I lost my dad 6 years ago, and the memory after all these years is hard to erase. I did not have a memory table, because that would not be something my mom could handle. It was hard for her to see me get married( i am the youngest and last to get married) and for me it would be extremely difficult, as it were not having a father daughter dance, but I dont think that at a wedding you should let people know of your loss, and show their pictures. they are forever in your heart, and always be there where ever you are, I think that by donating to a charity in honor of the deceased is something much more memorable, than having pictures. For my family that would be too hard to handle. It is a wedding after all. That is just my opinion.

I think it is a great idea. I''m just not sure if I could handle it or my family could. Both of our Grandparent''s are gone.

Re: Pictures of the deceased at reception....
I think I want to have family wedding pictures on the mantle in the library at Westbury Manor. My parents, FH''s parents, my grandparents, and FH''s grandparents and maybe a chilhood pic of each of us.

Re: Pictures of the deceased at reception....
I think its a wonderful idea. I now my daughter and my son will be having a candle lit for those no longer with us. My daughter is the name sake of my Aunt who is/was very special to me and her. I grew up with her, she was more than an Aunt to me. Though we have lost her 3 years ago, it sadens me so that she will not be with us in person during this wonderful part of our lives. I know she is with me and my children in spirit and will be with us the day of the weddings.
I loved the poem and pictures table, it adds a personal touch. I do agree, some might not be able to handle the sadness of losing a precious person, but they do live on in our hearts and souls, so why not let them live on in our time of happiness? I know deep down in my heart, 'Aunt Marie' will be celebrating and sheding those tears of joy, holding my hand and standing by the entire day. I'm sorry if this sadens some, this is what i feel in my heart.
