Welcoem and best wishes to Alex Izzo and Mike Kearney and to their respective families: Lenny &k Donna Izzo; and Rick & Gail Kearney. The two: An Employee for The Trump Network from Northport and a Commercial Real Estate Professional from Hicksville were engaged in Montauk on Februray 17, 2011. 'Mike picked me up and took me out to Montauk, we stopped for lunch along the way and then we went right out to the lighthouse. Mike said 'surprise we're having a picnic!!!' It was a beautiful day which was unusual for February, 60 and sunny! We were the only people there and found a nice place right on the water to set up our picnic. It was gorgeous and perfect, Montauk is definitely one of our favorite spots! Once we set up the picnic, Mike said 'Do you want your card now?' Every year Mike makes me an amazing homemade Valentines Day card, I look forward to it each year. He brought out this white box and said 'I did it a little different this year, I hope you like it.' He handed me the box and on the cover was the number 4, standing for our 4th Valentine's Day together. I opened the box and on the inside on the top was the lyrics to one of my favorite Gavin Degraw songs 'Follow Through'. The sides of the box were lined with subtle pictures, a dress, a cake, flowers, etc. I then looked down towards the bottom of the box and there was a bed of white silk flowers. I put my hand down through the flowers and pulled out the box. At that moment I was completely in shock and took a second before I opened it, I was thinking 'is this what I think it is?' I opened the box and gasped, Mike got down on one knee and for the next 10 seconds neither of us can tell you what was said, we both blacked out because we were so excited and it was such an amazing moment. Moments later there was a lot of jumping up and down, screaming and hugging. We took a few minutes to take it all in by ourselves and then made the rounds of phone calls to our friends and family. Both sets of our parents had known for 2 weeks what was coming and 2 of my best friends helped Mike with the unbelievable ring. It was the perfect day and a total surprise, we'll remember ever detail forever! They look forward to a September 8, 2012 celebration of love. We wish them much joy, success, and years of happiness.
