Im not able to make it to the LIW sponsored GTG...but remembering our last one, I didnt get to talk to too many of the newlyweds.
Would anyone be interested in doing our own Newlywed GTG?
I dont live on LI and I dont drive ... but I think many of us work in NYC right? So maybe we could all meet for dinner one night.
What do you think?

How about the playright? I think there is one on 48th and broadway or around there.. they serve food- you can walk from Penn.. and I am sure they can accommodate the larger parties.

I am sorry but I have a prejudice against any and all Reese restaurants.

Ooooh, a midtown GTG? I may actually be able to make it!!
Has anyone been to any of the Korean BBQ restaurants around Penn? Sounds like a fun kind of dinner, and I believe some have karaoke!
There's an Irish bar/restaurant at 5 Penn-Tir Na Nog...not sure what the scene it there.
Isn't Merchants nearby?
Mustang Sally and Mustang Harry, but I always find these places insanely crowded.
Has anyone been to Trailer Park (mid 20s b/w 7th and 8th)? Any place with velvet Elvises on the walls is OK by me

Re: Newlywed GTG?
TGIF near Penn is crazy expensive. They charge double what other places charge and the food is uck IMO.
I went there with a Friend and didnt really look at the prices thinking 'TGIF is cheap right?' - wrong! The bill was huge - and we barely ordered anything!
What is the Playright?

Re: Newlywed GTG?
Playwright is a irish type sportsbar- bar food with specials, etc... There are like 3 or 4 of them in the city... i've been to 3 of them.. they are great.
Trailer Park is GROSS GROSS GROSS... we do not want to go there- the drinks are cute, but the place is small AND the food is TERRIBLE

Re: Newlywed GTG?
Is Playrights more of a bar or a restaurant? The reason I ask is b/c bars with restaurants tend to be really loud on Thursday nights...and I want to hear you girls talk :D

Re: Newlywed GTG?
Also near penn station is a Ginger Man bar with awesome selection of belgian and other foreign beers. I don't think they have food, but I am pretty sure that they serve appetizers and finger foods.

Re: Newlywed GTG?
I know the Playwright by times square has 3 floors- 2 bars- and then a separate dining area.
That is where my DH told me he loved me for the first time

How cute!
So it looks like Playrights is the majority suggestion. Is anyone opposed to that?
