Well, we were originally booked at Candela and I had serious doubts about the place. I was very nervous after a brunch I went to with my family. 2 weeks later they call to tell us they are closing and giving our money back I was scared and kinda relieved at the same time. Amy (FutureMrs) recommended the 3 West Club. It was the best thing that ever happened because 3 West Club was amazing!!

Re: #2 RH

we narrowed down to Westbury Manor and Larkfield. Westbury had just booked our first choice date and were snooty about any more price reductions feeling if they booked our first date within 3 days of our checking it they could book our 2nd date too.
Whereas Larkfield people were so charming and wanted to do whatever they could to make it the best day for you and threw in things to entice you ; so there we went. And we got the holiday sunday for a sunday price not inflated like alot of other places do for holiday weekends.
it was superb and the food was indescribably good. AWESOME.

Flowerfield was alwasy #1 for me

If I absolutely HAD to pick something else - I would have gone with Land's End

same here!

well, i can't say it was always number one because i really didn't know much about FF before we booked... i always knew it was there being that i grew up in smithtown but never knew how wonderful it was...

then, when we were searching- we had seen so many places that just weren't blowing us away. we liked the woodlands but they were too small for our ridiculous amount of people.

of course, the garden city hotel, the carltun and carlyle on the green are GORGEOUS but it was out of our budget since we really wanted to spend a lot on great vendors too.

but, when it was all said and done, and from the beginning when i saw FF and went inside-- NOTHING came even close... it is just so beautiful and unique-- it's just very 'us'.

but yeah, land's end i guess would be a second too b/c it's basically the same place in terms of food, management, ownership, service, quality, etc. it's just a beach setting rather then a garden.

but FF will always be 'the one' for us

Belhurst Castle in upstate NY. Someone on this site is getting married there, I just don't remember who.

It's absolutlely gorgeous, and the place where we got engaged. BUT, it's a 6 hour car ride from here, and we REALLY wanted a cocktail style reception. At the Belhurst, that means serving sandwiches, and I couldn't ask my family to drive 6 hours to eat sandwiches!

we only looked at 4 halls -- and Lombardi's on the Sound really stood out and we fell in love. but I had always dreamed of getting married at Oheka Castle but let's just say it was way out of our budget.

I think we might have picked Lands End....
But we were getting married in December...and i thought it might be too cold by the water then.

but who would have thought that we had a beautiful day 60 degree day in December!

I guess Fox Hollow, but we didn't even go and see it. We booked the George Washington Manor on the spot! I heart them...they rock!

Re: #2 RH

we knew we wanted to have a different wedding ~ all our other friends had venues we would have looked at ~ We booked Nautical Empress and did not look at another venue... W e tried to think of other places that would compare to the uniqueness of our wedding and we could not come up with anything else...
