CLM was my fav out of all the places we looked at. I loved everything about it. I didn't consider any of the other places I looked at

Re: #2 RH
we wanted a local wedding... only 2 options, lombardi's on the sound, and danford's
lombarid's receptionists were so arrogant..... very dismissive of us.... basically trying to make it seem like we'd be blessed to be let through their hallowed gates..... Since we spend our lives trying to AVOID environments like that, we never turned back.......
danford's was golden..........

Re: #2 RH
Ours was The Tides Estate in NJ but they were a bit too pricy for us. If I had to do it all over again, I'd either do Milleridge Cottage, Crescent Beach Club, or Westbury Manor.

Re: #2 RH
We looked at the Westbury Manor, The Cartlun, The Carlyle, Harrison House(now Glen Cove Mansion). I'd say it was between The Carlyle and Harrison house in second place, but honestly, we saw the Woodlands first and knew pretty much right away.

Re: #2 RH
Our first choice is to get married in a vineyard and I fall in love with Bedell Cellars, but they were asking for $15K site fee - that didn't work for us. I was disappointed in the beginning but we found Crescent Beach Club, which provided us everything we wanted and still on our budget.

Re: #2 RH
#2 was Coral House and that was because the place we ended up booking and Coral House were really the only 2 'nice places' with a good reputation that we could afford.
Ideally, my first choice was Milleridge, second was Westbury Manor. I liked Jericho Terrace but the BM we met with such a used carsalesman even if we could have afforded it, i don't think we would have booked.

I wanted to see Fox Hollow but they never returned my calls. So technically I never really had a #2 since I only ever saw CLM! I'm so glad it worked out that way!

Re: #2 RH
We did not have a second choice. It was always going to be West Sayville Country Club.

Re: #2 RH
Jericho Terrace, and I was about to book with them at a higher price per plate bc we couldn't fill the room and then the night I went there was a bridal showcase and turned out the room downstairs was big enough to fit my wedding and the Banquet Manager 'fogot' to tell us about it.. Needless to say, I cancelled the check the next day..

Re: #2 RH
my 2nd choice would have been either The Metropolitan in Glen Cove- which had amazing food, and was the same price as Douglaston Manor.....BUT DH thought it was too small! I'm still kind of bummed about that (even though DM was awesome.....the food was just uncomparable at the Metropolitan!!).....my other runner up was Larkfield Manor!!! it was just gorgeous! I heard great things about the food, but distance did us in on this one, since it's in Northport and we're from Queens!!
this is a good thread!!

joan, seriously, this is so funny! we looked at vineyards too, but they were just too expensive and as soon as we saw CBC, we knew it was the best option! we really are everything twins, even after the fact!!
