3 joint acct/name change questions

Part I
DH kept is checking acct open & added me to it ( maiden name)Can I use his checks, untill the new ones come with my name on it?

Part II- I hyphenated on my marraige license , but now I think that may have been a mistake.I have to stick with what's on there for SS, and dmv & the bank,right?

Part III-
How do I sign checks made out to Mr & Mrs his last name?
We both have to sign, right?

I did this not too long ago - You can use the checks until the new ones come in, the bank will have your signature on file. As for checks, endorse them as they are written out.

You have to ask your bank. I couldn't just sign my new or old name ...They made me sign BOTH my maiden and married name!

I would give your bank a call

it is such a huge PITA changing names!!! I changed my name on my banking (& added DH to my account), but still sometimes get checks made out to my maiden name... i carry my marriage license (a photocopy) with me at all times, b/c i never know WHAT my name is!!!

I got a returned checkfroma weddignlast year & I worte it to her maidenname b/c i thoughtshe wans't changing, but she signed it twice, maiden & married.
So, that's probably the best bet.

Except that my married name, is hyphenated, and the cheks are written out to Mrs his last name.
Maybe I sign it 3 times!
