Re: 3/13 Topic of The Day
Hard question – I think we have actually very little in common – he likes jazz, I like Bon Jovi. He likes spicy food and Sushi, I like Kraft Macaroni and Cheese (oh my goodness I might be white trash! J) He likes the History Channel and I like Greta Van Susteren! But our ethics are very much the same, morals, goals, etc. We are both extremely driven, hard workers who love a project / mission. I think that’s what keeps us jiving. But the everyday stuff in common? NO WAY!!!

Re: 3/13 Topic of The Day
We are definitely not the same..but not complete oppossites either. We share some of the same interests, but mostly have our own things that make us happy. We come from similiar 'class' of family and neighborhood but our home lives were completely different. We share some of the same opinions on the key issues, but he is a republican and Im a liberal democrat.

Stef - same here! James and I are not always on the same page when it comes to political issues and believes.
We both have very different childhoods, even though we're both from the island!
Personality wise, we're very similar....both on the reserved side, quiet people

Re: 3/13 Topic of The Day
Well, we have obvious differences such as age, race, religion, and education level. These are all most things that would prevent 2 people from coming together. We also have differences in terms of personality such as I'm more proactive, DH is passive. I like things neat and orderly, he doesn't care as much.
But our beliefs, values, views on political and social matters, spitiritual beliefs, parenting styles, etc are mostly the same. IMO, this is what counts the most in our relationship.

Our personalities are different but our values and beliefs are pretty similar. We have common interests as well as our own thing.

We might be different on the surface ... politics, upbringing, age ... but like the others said we're the same where it counts. Same morals, values, goals.

Re: 3/13 Topic of The Day
We are a little more different than alike. Not sure if that has come through being with each other 8 years but we do have a lot of common interests (we may have evolved into liking them since the other enjoys them). I played soccer as a child so I wasn't far away from enjoying sports but never watched them, Gary is a huge fan of all sports and I enjoy most of them now with him (baseball, hockey). Gary wasn't a vacationer before me but we like and enjoy it together, those sort of things...I guess we compromise on more than I think but I guess that is why our marriage works!

Re: 3/13 Topic of The Day
In some ways we are......we are both very close to our families, we want a big family of our own, we are both outgoing, have many friends and are kind of loud.
Our personalities differ in small ways such as, I am neat and he is a slob, he loves to cook & I don't have a clue...although I am learning. I need time to myself sometimes where he always needs to be around people.
All in all, I think we are a good match.

Re: 3/13 Topic of The Day
I hate sports, he loves sports. I love to browse around craft stores, Scott shudders at the mere thought, I love to cook, he loves to eat, I think a bathroom needs to be cleaned every few days, he thinks it is 'fine' for a month....
But when it is boiled down to the very basics we are very alike and our differences is what makes us learn new things and appreciate that 2 people do not have to be 100% the same to be in love.

Re: 3/13 Topic of The Day
I think our characters are very similar- morals, values, beliefs, goals, etc.. But our personalities are not as similar - we have some different interests, we react to things differently, we behave differently, etc.

Re: 3/13 Topic of The Day
When we first started dating, I thought that the only thing we had in common was the fact that we had nothing in common! I said black, he said white. But over the years, as we've grown closer, I've come to realize that we have more in common then I originally thought! Of course, there are still some things we're total opposites about, but that's what makes him 'him' and me 'me'!!!
