My friend's daughter was playing with my ipod (unbeknownst to us) and she somehow locked it! I got my ipod a few years ago and tried every code I could have possibly made it, but it's not unlocking. According to the apple site, the only way to unlock it is to restore my settings and that means ALL 2200 songs are deleted! There has to be a better way!

There HAS to be a better way! I would call the Apple store or go there. There is one in Roosevelt Field.

My office is right by the store on 5th Ave, so I plan on going there. I was hoping someone knew how to fix it on here

I'm assuming you tried holding down the play/pause and the middle key together?
Connect your iPod to the primary computer you use it with (the first one iPod synced with), and open iTunes. When you disconnect iPod from the computer, it will no longer be locked.
I did this and it didn't work

According to the Apple site it says you have to restore it to the original factory settings if you don't know the code.

As long as you synch it to iTunes on a regular basis, you will lose nothing. Restore the factory setting and then when that's done and it's unlocked just synch it to iTunes and it will restore all your songs. I hope you did synch it to iTunes. If not make an appointment at the Genius bar. they should be bale to help you.

I wish there was a way to get all my music onto my itunes. I delete my library regularly bc I don't use itunes to listen to music.

I don't have it set up to sync automatically, I have to do it through itunes. I can access all my music and do all the functions on itunes for my ipod BUT I can't use my ipod once I unplug it.
