A fun topic for today: 10/11/2002

Original post by shamma

If there was anything you could have done differently at your wedding, what would it be??

The things I would have done differently are:

1) I would have rented a dress instead of buying

2) I would have reminded my Dj to have us jump the broom

3) I would have reminded my photographer to take some fun shots that I wanted such as, us in the limo, the girls and I in the limo, and a couple others

That's all I can think of right now. I am sure as you ladies share I will remember others, but for now these are the main ones

Hope everyone is enjoying the rainy weather

Have a wonderful weekend All

DH - Darling husband

I wish I had worn my veil a little higher on my head for my ceremony.

Great topic! Again, really, really minor things, I would not have changed my wedding day for anything.

But since it's the topic, I would have:
1) Been more insistent on 'no requests', my friend requested Ozzy!
2) Put last dance song on play list...forgot to do that
3) I would not have told people that I wasn't so close with that they were invited to my wedding.
3) Even though the only bridal party was 2 flower girls, I would have rehearsed briefly
4) Spent the extra $$ on 10 days on our honeymoon instead of 7
5) Rose petals were missing to be tossed at us

Things I'm very glad I did:
1) Spent the extra money on photo journalistic style
2) Saw sample centerpiece at Burton's
3) Chose my Reverand
4) small guest list
5) Had a wonderful day without begin in debt!

I agree with some that I loved my day....I wouldnt want to change anything that happened on that day but there are a few things that I wish were done.

1) More candid shots by our photographer. and some fun shots.

2) Danced more...although we did get to see everyone of our guests!!

3) We cancelled our cruise around Italy because if was soon after 9/11/01. I wish we had just gone on it because now that we have a house I do not know when we will beable to go on it again. I did love what we did...we went to Disney and were treated like a king and queen but it wasnt a 1st class cruise on the MEditerranean!

4) Have more pictures taken with certian family members. I do not have a picture with just my in-laws, my grandparents, my mom.

other than that...I had a wonderful memorable day!!

I have no complaints what so ever about my wedding day, but if I had to do it over, here is what I would do differently:

Have only my 2 sisters and one best friend in the bridal party. I had my 3 friends from HS as well and they are all moms now, and since I am so far behind them in getting married, they weren't interested (one my wedding day, the photographer had to get them twice for pictures, they were off talking about being pregnant!!) No offense, but it was my wedding day and I felt they didn't care

Not do a strapless dress, even though I loved my gown!! It probably wasn't fitted right and I was pulling it up all day :(

I got married in a Church and the reception hall was 40 minutes away. I'd probably choose a reception hall closer to the Church or just get married at the hall.

Ooo, today is our 5 month anniversary!

wow, so many things i agree with too........it was the BEST day, but i can say,

1. Photographer-i wish that i wrote a list of must have pics, i don't have one with each BM, and not enough of my DH with the guys only, also, not one of me and Nana!! i have plenty others that people took, but, you know.

That is a bit of a regret, but i do love my proofs overall...most of what i can think of is pics that i wish i had, but it is probably hard to get every possibility.

Oh, and I love my video...(the moms pushed us to do it, we didn't want to)!!

I loved our day too ... :-) But if I could have changed anything, I would:

1. Make a photographer list ... we missed some great shots
2. Not pick our bridal party so soon - my BF turned out to be very jealous and one of his grooms, was so not into it.
3. I would have made an announcement about our sign matte earlier in the wedding
4. I would have talked a little less and danced a little more

I don't really remember any more of the negatives ... It was truly the best day of my life!

You know what I really find nice about this thread?? That despite the little things that didn't exactly how we all planned them, we are all living PROOF that your wedding day is STILL the BEST DAY ever!

That makes me smile...

I agree 100% I look at our pictures everyday, I still walk with them so that those who were not able to attend the wedding can share in our day, especially the girls at the gym and my mom's co-workers who I grew up knowing.

I enjoyed every minute of my wedding day, the things that did not happen were so insignificant that I did not notice until way after. It does not change my memory or that I would want the day all over again
