A *little* weird...

A *little* weird...

I'm having minor surgery tomorrow (long story)
and I have stressed myself out to the point where I had a VICIOUS nightmare... sleep walked (sleep walked? slept walked?) into my living room and deposited myself on the floor CRYING... ...

My SON woke up and found me.. ran to wake up my husband.. It took me a little while to *wake up*
(and no-- I was NOT on any kind of medication... )
It was an awful panic attack.

I feel awful.. as if the poor kid isn't going through enough... he has to witness mommy going bat sh*t insane.

Can you tell him you were having a bad dream & that mommy isn't crazy?

I've hallucinated before when I had a high fever... but I don't recall ever leaving my room.

My poor husband got no sleep.. And my poor kid. That had to be frightening..

Yea he's probably just wigged out-as long as you assure him Mommy just had a bad dream and everyone ahs them sometimes and thats all it is, he should be ok. Kids just look to us and defenders so when we''re afraid, they get afraid. but some hugs and reassurances and he should be ok.

How are you doing?

yeah I did... He takes after me.. recently he had a fever and woke up talking gibberish... he was 1/2 awake and 1/2 sleeping..

So I reminded him of that and told him mommy wasn't feeling well and had a bad nightmare.

I'm exhausted. It was around 4am and it took me a while to settle down and get back to bed.

I battled awful anxiety for years and it was just all too familiar, you know?

Aw, I'm sorry to hear that. Hope you're feeling better. I know it's easier said than done, but try not to worry yourself so much. Good luck with your surgery!

That must have been scary for everyone involved. I'm sure after you explain it he will know you are not crazy. If you dangle him over a balcony we will start worrying.

All the best for tomorrow I will be thinking of you tomorrow morning (like I normally am).

That stinks, I have had that happen and it is un-nerving. He sounds like a smart kid and like he would understand.

Hope all goes well tomorrow.

Aw Caroline, I'm sorry you're feeling so anxious!! I wouldn't worry about DS, I'm sure he was fine once you hugged him and he saw you were 'back to normal'.

Good luck with your surgery tomorrow!!

I am sure your son is fine since you explained you were having a nightmare. You raised a smart kid so he will understand. Good luck with your surgery and don't worry about anything.

omg caroline, i had no idea what you were going through (i haven't been online much lately, so i'm not sure if you've posted about it before or not).

i went a bit crazy before my shoulder surgery too .... freaked out a bit over signing the health care proxy form -- for arthroscopic surgery!

if you need to talk, please FM me, i am here for you!!!

you will be in my thoughts and prayers tomorrow, hoping for a successful surgery and a super speedy recovery too!

no no no it;s really not a big deal. I have (what they think) is a cyst growing under my chin... it's about the size of a grape.

DH lost his mom to cancer... he hears: 'lump biopsy' and AUTOMATICALLY thinks the worst. I'm sure it;s nothing.

I had tumors on my spine, so not much worries me...it's just that he's freaking me out a little and I guess it's affecting me more than I thought.

haha nice, huh
