A question about China
If you didn't receive all your china, how are you planning on getting a complete set? I thought that we could purchase some for like holidays or something, but I don't know. Looking for suggestions. Thanks

Re: A question about China
I did recevie mine, but I have the same issue with flatware.I have a coupon for BBB for buying my registry items, but I am not sure if I want to buy it all now. I if don't family members might buy it for Christmas, but I dont' think I can wait & see, b/c the coupon expires ( have to check the date)
The funny thing is, I got 2 GC to Fortunoff, but everything expect a $30 cake stand was purchased from that registry!
I just wouldn't wait to long to buy it, since the pattern might be discontinued.

Re: A question about China
We are making it known that gifts from the registry (esp. china) are perfectly acceptable for Christmas gifts, and for our birthdays early next year.We are not in a huge rush to complete the set. It won't kill me if we don't get all of our accessory pieces if/when the pattern gets discontinued.

Re: A question about China
We didnt receive all our peices, however we do have all the place settings and a few serving peices so I am not really in a rush to get the gravy boat and things like that. However, I think when I do decide I want them, I will just suggest them to family who wants to get us gifts for our birthday/christmas etc. Our maybe one anniversary DH and I will just go out and buy whatever peices we want that we dont have instead of exchanging gifts.

I received all of my china. I can't really remember, but I think my mom told me that stores put China/Cookware on sale/or discounted for Thanksgiving time and then again around January or February (try to get the old styles out).
And I know some stores (Macy's and Fortunoff) have a completion discount when you complete your registry.

Re: A question about China
I was lucky enough to receive 10 out of 12 place settings. So with the 10% coupon for unpurchased items on my registry, I bought the last 2 settings myself .

Re: A question about China
I only received one china setting at my shower so I am really not sure. I'm considering returning that one and maybe selecting a different set that's less expensive for us to complete ourselves. I'm also considering just slowly completing the set we registered for.

Re: A question about China
I bought most of it for myself on sale at Fortunoff after the wedding. I used my discount there for registering. I also ordered some pieces online through bed bath and beyond and used their 20% coupon. For my crystal, I got some of it at the lenox outlet to finish it off. Now I have it all, but I spent a lot of money.
