A request in defense of the Sheep-Lamb coalition

A request in defense of the Sheep-Lamb coalition

Caroline, I know sheep have a bit of a bad rep, and can see why you picked them as the mascot for those who report unoffensive threads...

BUT In all fairness, sheep are cute, cuddly, happy little creatures, who really just mind their own business, and give us cheese, and cozy sweaters. And don't forget endless hours of entertainment most prominently displayed by
<----the Serta sleep sheep who work so hard to make us laugh...

So I respectfully request we abandon the sheep in favor of an animal that more closely embraces the qualities of the dysfuncitonal groupthink mentality -- and are in addition, not cute, and possess no utilitarian value whatsoever.

Ladies, may I present you... THE LEMMING:
(I love this pic because i think its you, me, and Cat over there on the right side):

I disconcur with your assessment of the situation..

There is no such thing as a sheep that possesses leadership qualities—all are born followers. Consequently, any sheep that does anything out of the ordinary, regardless of how foolish it is, becomes a leader by default. And all the other sheep, having no idea what it means to think for themselves, blindly follow. They simply assume the 'lead sheep' must know something that they don't.

I once watched scores of sheep jump over an obstacle that didn't exist, only because the first sheep in line had jumped over that same invisible obstacle.

Sure they are cute... they are cuddly... they provide us with clothes and we count them when we can't enter our abyss of slumber..

But there's always polyester...
and there's always ambien..

and besides...Lemmings don't make a cool sound to which I can reply to someone being a blindly follower with:

BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

we must agree to disagree, I'm afraid...

Years ago my dad kept 2 pet sheep at our country house in the Catskills, we named 'em GYRO and SOUVLAKI. I miss those critters so bad (and no we didn't eat them, they made a break for it and ended up eating all the neighbors' landscaping. We were personas non grata for a while there, but those moments are priceless.
