A Sad Day For Me

2 years ago today was the 2nd hardest thing Ive had to do - and that was putting my dog to sleep. He had gotten extremely sick in such a short period of time (literally days) & his glucose levels wer off the charts. We tried SO hard to get them under control, but then the pancreatitis started to attack the alveoli sacs in his lungs & by day 2 he was wheezing so bad it just broke our heart to see him in any more pain. So we brought him his blanket that we had gotten him that had his name on it and both DH & I were there in the room. They gave him the 1st shot that put him in the dreamlike sleep, and then the shot that stopped his heart. Even as Im writing this Im hysterical crying, and its been 2 years - but it was SO hard. I loved that dog SO much & I still miss him EVERY day! DH put together a slideshow as a tribute - no pressure to watch - but wanted to share.

awe, the loss of a dog is always hard. I still miss Ginger terribly (our family mutt) and she died in March of 97.

Looks like you guys gave him a very loving home, he was very lucky to have such caring parents.
