Ok, so lets get a ladies perspective on this. I know it's long but it's totally worth it. MY DH is on a message board and this was the gist of one of the posts.
This guy comes home from work and is greeted by his girlfriend who is crying (and they were not tears of joy). When asked what is wrong, she proceeds to tell his boyfriend that she just found out that she is pregnant. Shocked, that this was something that they had never talked about he tries to comfort her while he sits there in shock. Later on that night he decides to do some investigative work and this is what he finds.... His girlfriend is on BC and finds out of the 28 pills only 6 are gone. 1 from the first week, 2 from the second week, 0 from the third week, and 3 of the sugar pills. Then, he found a letter where she wrote her first name with his last name and a list of 2 different wedding gown designers Now neither of them have ever been married. They have been together for 7 years She is 37 and has a 9 y/o child from a previous relationship and he is 34. When he confronted her about the BC pills she told him that they didn't taste right so didn't take them. Any thoughts???

Re: A woman's perspective.
I don't know the couple, but my first impression is that she got pregnant on purpose in hopes that he would marry her.

Re: A woman's perspective.
Thoughts:
1) I feel bad for the guy
2) I think there is something wrong with their relationship if they've dated for 7ys and never discussed kids
3) she' probably a little unstable b/c this is not the right way to go about getting someone to marry you
4) He shouldn't marry her - she's coniving and a liar - if she didn't like the 'taste' of her BC pills - she should have dealt with that issue with her doctor and informed her BF that she's off BC.
5) I still feel really bad for the guy

Totally agree on all.

Re: A woman's perspective.
Its obvious that she did this on purpose to 'trap' him
I feel really bad for her that she has to resort to this to feel secure in the relationship.
I think that even if they get married, he'll later resent her, and she'll resent him b/c she had to trap him and he didn't ask her on his own will.
I think she is a very dishonest person, and if she wanted to get married that badly, she would have been better off telling him that is what she wanted and if he didn't want to give it to her......bye bye.
I think after 7 years, if she wanted to get married, and he didn't feel the same way.....at that age (its not like they are 22 anymore) then there was a reason for it.
I think there are a lot of details that we aren't aware of, and there is a big reason or reasons they never got married.
I think they are doomed.

Agree with all of the above. No good can come of this situation and unfortunately, now there's a baby (and it sounds like she's going to keep it) involved.

obviously they have issues if this is the first thing he does after finding out!!! Ummm..one of the biggest things in a relationship is trust....which she broke by NOT taking the pills & lying....and HE broke of he needs to 'investigate' why she got pregnant!!!!

Re: A woman's perspective.
This is obviously an unstable couple and relationship on SO many levels, and i think that not only is the woman at fault here b/c shes obviously trying to 'trap' him, but what about him? I cant let him off the hook so easily either. For some reason i have a feeling there is something deeper going on here that none of us know about. They are old enough, you would think in your mid-thirties, you would be able to communicate with one another rather than resort to snooping into your gf's things and trying to 'investigate' the situation.
This is a relationship where there is no trust, loyalty, or security. She probably felt the need to do something SO radical and dramatic b/c she probably blames herself that he cant comitt to her.

WOW... that's just no good.. she totally trapped him and obviously she wasn't the marrying kind, if they have been in a relationship for 7 years and no marriage.. I feel bad for him
