A year later

A year later

So its a year later and we are very happy together. We can't believe it was over a year ago. We are still living in the house my Hubby grew up in (his parents have moved out) but we share it with his sister, husband and son. I am still unemployed and its really depressing that I am a graduate with a MS in school counseling and a year later still working at min wage! Money is tight and my pants are even tighter. Has anyone else had a similar story?
My life has definately improved since we got married, my parents have given me more independence and respect and his have become non-existant, since they hate me!
We are frustrated at the fact that we live in Queens when we want a house out on LI. That our neighbors are an overpopulated hindu temple, and our family that doesn't help around the house.
I love my husband more each day, its just that I feel like everything else has gone upside down.
Thanks for letting me vent a little

Re: A year later

The day after I got back from my honeymoon, I went on an interview for a new job, since it was closer to home. Well, three months later they laid me off (I didn't care for the people there anyway). Then two months later (luckily I had a job before this) my dh got laid off due to downsizing. Two months later, he found a job. It was a rough six months and I was so stressed! Not a good way to start a marriage. I was feeling depressed for a while, until I found a new job two months later. Other than that, everything was good. Now things are great and back to normal. I am glad I had dh and we pulled through it together.

Regardless of how things may seem right now and they are not going as you'd like them to be and you are not too crazy about your immediate environment....you have a few things that really are the most important....
You have a wonderful husband whom you love and loves you
You have good health and happiness....those are really wonderful things to have....
And the job and the immediate environment...don't worry....out of every situation something good emerges and I'm certain you will find a job in no time.
Hang in there!
It's only a matter of time before things start looking up just the way you want them to be.

So true! After a I got my MA and EdM in Counseling (also have BA in Psych), it took me 6 months to find a job that paid $28K.....luckily when I left there and finally got an amazing job my salary doubled, now I am back getting my PhD in counseling but it probably won't do anything to my salary Good Luck finding a job--I know school counseling ones are the hardest to find since the number is limited and funding is being cut. So sorry to hear what you are going through but try to focus on the good stuff and work on improving the not so good stuff.
