Update:

Thank you all for your prayers. The tumor is positioned in such a way that we'd have to have Helmut's arm amputated, and even then, it's unlikely that they'd be able to get all of the cancer (because it's a very fast-spreading kind). He's not in any pain and is still moving and hopping and jumping around, and sitting outside even despite the weather (so stubborn, just like DH!). He will go to the vet every 2 weeks now for medicine (i don't know what kind, DH is not good with details) and to have fluid drained from the area. That's all we will do, because Helmut without an arm just wouldn't be Helmut. This is so incredibly heartbreaking for both of us, but especially DH, and I just ask that you keep us in your thoughts. Prognosis is 2-3 months before he's incapacitated and/or in pain, at which point, we'll be forced to make a dreadful decision.

Awwwwwwwww, Elizabeth, I am soooo soooo soooo sorry to hear this. I have my cats (my boys) who are the loves of my life and I truly can not imagine what you guys are going through. I will most definately be praying for Helmut!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
