ack! I woke up with (I think) a stye on my eye!! HELP PLEASE

First off, I don't know how this could have happened because I am a lunatic with hand sanitizer and washing my hands like every 5 seconds....

What do I do??

My eye started bothering me last night....I couldn't figure out what it was....I woke up this morning and now my left eye is a little swollen on my eyelid has a subtle red bump on the inner corner..and its a weird kind of feeling (it doesn't hurt, but it definitely isn't comfortable either.

What do I do??? I have to work friday and saturday and wearing makeup is part of my job.

This will be little to no help, I am sure, but I had a sty in college and a friend of mine had some tube of medication ... you had to put it in your eye ... I used it and the next day it was MUCH better, only a tiny bit swollen and red, but I wore makeup anyway.

NO clue what the medication was ... it was a tiny little tube ... I don't know if it was OTC or prescription or anything ... but something DOES exist!

hottt water applied! i get these from my mascara when its waterproof!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it will come to a head and go away :)

dont wear mascara till its gone though

is there a head on it??? I had that before and i THOUGHt it was a stye.... it hurt and was uncomfortable. I put hot compresses on it.. but it took forever to go away. It actually never did... it turned into a cyst on my eyelid. I went to the doctor too late.

So if you can, I would try to go to the doctor... I actually had an eye infection (dirt or something got in it). Just let him check it out.

Now about 2 years later the cyst is actually gone... but I was embarrassed to have a bump on my eyelid.

I've been doing hot compresses...

my mom gets styes fairly often and is giving me her tube of bacitracin opthalmic...hopefully that will help!

I can't get to a doctor till Tuesday because of work

Thankfully I have long bangs and lots of bright lipstick to take the attention away from the eye.

Hopefully this will go away! My eye is soo itchy and uncomfortable.

Make sure that you get new eyeliner now and then throw it out and buy it again when it finally goes away. i know it sounds redic, but the last thing you want to do is use eyeliner that has the infection on it now, and you certainly dont want to give it to yourself again.

ps. i did this once and its so painful so i hope that you feel better soon. the only thing i can think is to sleep with a little vaseline on it and make sure you keep it clean when you arent at work. feel better!

And you know what? I think I know how I got it-I fell asleep with mascara on 2 nights ago-I must have rubbed my eye in my sleep and.........POOF!!!

Totally. I do that all the time. Cosmo says to keep makeup remover pads next to your bed. I think I might start doing that just bc some nights its just like 'ughhhhhh' when I think about having to go through the makeup removal routine before crashing!

I never go to sleep with makeup on! It was a one off situation (thankfully too, I had only a little mascara on that night-normally I have a zillion coats of it). So it could have been way worse.

Take a penny....yes a penny and heat it up with fire let it cool down where it wouldn't burn your skin (test w/ your finger) and hold it on the sty for like 1 minute do this 2 or 3 times within a half hour and I PROMISE YOU it will go away.

DH got one once and I did this and it was gone and at first he was like '*** are you doing?'

I had a stye from false eyelash adhesive and the following really helped:

Take a sock (preferably a new one!) fill it with uncooked dry rice, and heat in the microwave for a minute. Use it as a compress. It will help!
