After how long do you consider it RUDE not to have a Thank You card out?

We don't have our cards out, (we are having copywrite issues) and I'm wondering what people are starting to think...

Re: After how long do you consider it RUDE not to have a Thank You card out?

i'm used to getting them 6-7 months after the wedding. i think any longer than a year is rude
of course, if there is no picture included, i think they should go out within 2-3 months

Re: After how long do you consider it RUDE not to have a Thank You card out?

Honestly, I think 1 year is even pushing it. People don't like receiving TYs so late. There was a family member who had a bridal shower, wedding, then 8 months later a baby shower and still no Thank you's. I say get them out as fast as you can.

TYs are supposed to be sent w/in 3 months or so, but I've waited longer. Hopefully I'll have mine out within 3 months.

Re: After how long do you consider it RUDE not to have a Thank You card out?

The rule is 1 year. I usually get them within 6-8 months.

If there is no picture then it should be much much sooner.

I just got a T/U from a friend's wedding that was in August (last summer). I think NEVER getting a thank you is worse than getting it late.

Re: After how long do you consider it RUDE not to have a Thank You card out?

Now I don't feel so bad that I don't have mine out yet! I would have liked to have gotten them out within 2-3 months, but I have been so busy with moving to NJ, getting a new job, and now buying a house. I think 6 months sounds fair, but hopefully I'll have mine out by the end of the month. I think the 1 year thing is way too long, but 6 months seems reasonable. I still feel guilty about not sending mine out when I see people that were at my wedding. I'm always thinking that they must be wondering 'where's my thank you card?!?!'

wow!!

Don't worry, I don't really hold anyone to the 3-month rule.

Laurie's wedding was in February and I didn't even remember that I hadn't gotten a TY yet until I saw this post.

Re: After how long do you consider it RUDE not to have a Thank You card out?

My goal is for the 3 month mark...

I had one friend who got divorced after 10 months...(I mentioned that it was ironic since they didn't their thank-you's yet, and he told me that they were sent out a couple months prior, mine just never arrived)

Re: After how long do you consider it RUDE not to have a Thank You card out?

I personally feel thank you's should be out 2-4 months after the wedding. But I think they should definitey be sent no matter when it is. Better late than never. DH and I went to his best friends wedding TWO going on almost THREE years ago and still haven't received a thank you. I know they had problems with their photographer and didn't get their pictures for almost a year after their wedding, but I didn't need a pic, just a card expressing gratitude would have been nice!! And even when they did get their pics, they still didn't send thank you's. That to me is just so poor and tasteless and tacky!! I will never attend or give a gift to them again for any party they may have, they obviously don't appreciate things they receive!!!

Re: After how long do you consider it RUDE not to have a Thank You card out?

People are actually calling my parent's house to tell them I haven't sent them a thank you. Then I get the horrified lecture call from my mom about how they should have gone out already.

I have about 1/3 done so far.

I think like 3-4 months it good. Anything after 6 months I think is too long.
