after it's all said and done...

just out of curiosity...

now that the dust has settled, do any of you look back and giggle at the things you were stressing over while planning??

i'll go first.

i was freaking out because the inserts on my diy invites weren't 'perfect.' i felt that it would come across as my not caring. now looking back, i don't think anyone would have noticed... mind you... i re-did them

yep. none of that stuff is worth stressing over, because no one notices but YOU!! Sometimes when I go on BHB I want to tell these girls that all worrying about the little details is silly, but I don't want to offend them.

part of my post-nuptial-depression is that i'm mourning all the precious time i wasted. EVERYTHING fell apart anyway!! and i STILL was able to have a fun wedding/reception.

what was i thinking?

I find it both funny and sad that I stressed over some things that weren't necessary and there were things that I should've been more concerned with.

All in all we had a fabulous day, but if I could do it all over again there are some minor things that I would change.

I stressed about a lot but it was all worth it when guests said to me that I had so many personal touches and could tell I worked my butt off.

Yes.. My programs. I spent HOURS on it.

My wonderful groomsmen forgot to hand them out at church.

actually, I am glad I 'stressed' over the details because I really think many people noticed the little details... maybe not everyone, but people do notice!

One thing I wish I didnt stress over was the guestlist-we thought we had too many people invited and then when it came down to it, we were short our count by 9 and some people were no shows-we wound up having to pay for children as adults...

the only thing I stress about was the weather that I have no controle over...but in the end the sun came out during the ceremony and rain later during the reception but that is good luck

You know what? I'm glad I stressed too! It may seem silly now, but it was important to me then, and people really do notice the details. I totally understand and feel the pain of brides that are currently planning!

Some of my biggest DIY stressors:

petal cones
table name cards
place cards
favor wrapping

My other big stressor:

Would the room be too crowded? It ended up being PERFECT!

ETA: Oh, my BIG one (my true bridezilla moment) was when I realized I used abbreviations on my invite addresses, such as NY instead of New York, etc. I was SO upset and threw a fit. It turned out that the place was running behind and I was able to send them a new updated list with everything spelled out.
