Yeaaaaaah I felt like I was digging for gold to get that shiiit out

Ok I shouldn't even TELL you guys this... but...

A girl I used to work with was going away for a romantic weekend with her BF but had her period so I told her to get Insteads. OMG. Apparently she was very tiny 'down there'. She could NOT get it out. She had to go to the ER and have it removed. And it was July 4th weekend. Come Monday at work, she was ready to KILL me.

not to give anyone images.... but... could you imagine when the doctors pulled that thing out!!

sorry in advance if anyone is eating lunch while reading this!!

ew...vom! LOL

A chance of spilling?!?!?!

yuuuuuuup, when you go to pull it out, you can spill. You would also be SHOCKED at how much can pool up in there. After years of using tampons, I never realized how much we actually bleed. No wonder we're grumpy.

at everything you just wrote!!!

wow!

i couldn't do it--but some people are so 'green' conscious these days. i can't give up that...sorry people!

ITA!!! i heart tampons/pads!!

i heart loestrin, which makes my period so light i either dont get it at all or its too light, like spotting, to even wear a tampon.

i cant imagine fishing that thing out. no thanks.

'Can The DivaCup become “stuck”? If it happens, what to do?

A. It is highly unlikely that The DivaCup will become “stuck”, because the vagina is only approximately 4 or 5 inches long! If The DivaCup moves up and becomes harder to reach, simply push down (or bear down) with your stomach muscles (similar to having a bowel movement). Reach inside the vagina and pull on the stem until you can reach the base of the cup. Squeeze the base.

Make sure that you are relaxed while doing this so that your vaginal muscles do not become tense.Once you have squeezed the base to release the air, pull the cup out at a sideways angle. This allows more air to enter the vagina, and it will then be able to be removed easily. If you still cannot reach The DivaCup, squat on the floor. This will automatically lower the cup because this position shortens the vagina.

The important thing to remember is not to panic as this will make the vaginal muscles very tense and can cause the cup to be harder to remove....'

yea...im gonna be reaaaal relaxed as i get something stuck up there and im doing weird maneuvers and bearing down to get it out!!!!

ok, here is the Instead cup. You fold it in half, push it in & then it opens up inside like a tent. The cup part is like a ziploc bag. Does not feel pointy at all. It sits HIGH up on your cervix, so male entry is not affected. It can also stay in for 12+hours so so risk of TSS.

To get it out is tricky tough, You kind o fhave to hook your finger around the rim & PULL. There is a chance of spilling, which I have done.

from their website:
Wearing INSTEAD® Softcup® during your period, you and your partner can enjoy 'clean sex'and he won't even feel it's there! (Note: the INSTEAD® Softcup® is NOT a contraceptive!)

I've used those. I'll admit it. The end was very limp and flexible. It didn't slip downward, which was nice. I would at least try this newer product.
