Am I being bitter?- TY card question

Hi.

I have been lax on ordering a TY card because I was debating about upgrading to a collage type TY. I really wanted something different.

I get free thankyous with my package already.

Here is why I am uncertain:

We got some nice gifts from some people, however there were those people that were blatantly cheap and thoughtless (also stiffers) when it came to giving a gift. I know, I know I should just appreciate the fact that they came to share the day- yada yada yada, but lets be real - you expect a respectable gift. I am not ashamed to admit it I know I do. Before you say it, I did not have this wedding to re coup money, but you would think people would be considerate and somewhat generous.

Well with that being said I am starting to think these people are not worthy of me spending an extra few hundred dollars for a thank you.

Please give your thoughts. Even if they are harsh ,I do not care I guess I am asking for it.

One thing I have come to learn is that, do what makes you happy. Do not let others affect how you would behave. If you like the collage card then get it.

I would just stick with the regular freee TY card. Spend the money on an upgraded pic for yourself.

Spend the money if you want.
Just b/c they were cheap and thoughtless, doesn' mean that should define what you do.

At least they got you something. I would like to get even a card from some ppl who came with absolutely NOTHING - not even good wishes in a card

I put extra time into things like thank you cards more b/c i liked the idea, rather than it being about giving something to anyone else. If you are not into having the upgraded ones, get the free ones and save yourself the money.

I agree - you have to do what makes you happy. I did the regular wallet pictures because I like that and I know many of my friends and family like that. If you like collages, get them - or maybe see what the price is to get only a few for special members of the bridal party and only very close family and friends and send everyone else the regular wallets. There is a lot you can do....I also think tons of people throw away the thank you's anyway so if the investment is large - why bother (I know I never throw them away but before DH and I lived together he always threw away the cards and pictures....I am so mad we don't have some of our good friends pictures!)

(PS - I didn't send the 'stiffers' a thank you...I did send them a thank you when the gift was rec'd (I did wind up getting a lot of gifts after the wedding and finally the last one about a year after the wedding) - but it was DH's friends who were the 'stiffers' so I let him make the call...)

I say, why not get a certain # of the upgrade & send out different TY's to different people.

I'm sending different ones only b/c I want to get the people who couldn't come, but who sent a gift in the mail before Christmas....
Just a thought... ???? + might save you some $$, yet, you can still get some of the TY's you wanted

I understand how you feel. I think you should upgrade to what you want, but how about doing half and half. Do a regular picture thank you and the other half you order the collage. Give the collage thank you to who you think would appreciate it and to close family and friends.

Why not spend the money on a collage type photo for your home. Just an idea.
