I did the same thing a few years ago and it was the best decision I ever made. Just be careful about fertility. If you want to go on something else again talk to you doctor, they may be able to give you an IUD or something.

Are you saying be careful about fertility, implying that OCPs are linked to infertility? I appologize if I'm reading this wrong, but that's how it appears.
If that's what u are saying, that is a very false statement. I'm nervous that ur going to scare all of these girls off of their OCPs or other hormonal contraceptives. Or any contraceptive for that matter.

Again if I'm wrong, I'm sorry. Just trying to clear this up.

I also read this as 'be careful because you're very fertile at first.'

Yeah, I was saying you're going to be very fertile. Hence she should look into another form of BC.

OK cool! Sorry again! Its a common question that patients ask me. BTW, I LOVE the IUD. Not all MDs will put one into a woman who has not yet been pregnant/has a child. But if u can find one that will, its a fab option. (But isn't for everybody). Talk to your dr, lots of good stuff out there!

No worries. I haven't gotten an IUD purely because I have no time to do anything EVER these days. I have a bunch of friends who loved theirs so I really want to look into it. I'm going for some tests right now about other stuff so I may ask my doc about it when we're over with that.

Re: Am I crazy? BCP

I was on loestrine the month before my wedding and did not take it as directed. I did not know that would lead to pregnancy symptoms(short periods, mid-cycle spotting, cramping, nausea..etc)...needless to say 20 pregnancy tests later and a visit to my gyn..I'm going on nuvaring.

yes, really bad acne flare ups and I never had acne problems as a teenager. It's so much worse now.

Also, as Mor said... my cramps are back to being how they were when I was 12. AWFUL.

I'm just saying. Be prepared. It's part of life I guess esp if you're going to be TTC sometime this year. You'll have to come off sooner or later I guess

YES! ITA! I have been off for a month now and I totally feel like a WOMAN! I was on the pill since I was 19 (I think!) and coming off is making me feel EVERYTHING!!!
I am even more feisty than I used to be...if you know what I mean
