Am I overreacting?

Am I overreacting?

So I have a tendency to be over-dramatic- so I want to ask you girls if I am doing it again.

DH went out with a friend from work and his brother on Saturday. He came home at almost 5am- I was livid. I have only met the guy he works with once and never met the brother.

Anyway, so am I overreacting or would you be pissed to?

be brutally honest- I dont want anyone to agree with me if I am being crazy lol

Do you guys have a 'curfew'? Like if you go out alone to be home at a decent time? If so then yeah I would be p'd off. 5 am means you closed the freaking club. Also did he drive? If so yeah I would be p*ssed bc he could have come home earlier, if he didnt drive then I wouldn't be as mad about it.

If I knew he was going out and having a good time then I would'nt worry. He usually keeps me posted where he is and what's going on so I don't worry. If he just left and told me hew as coming back at like 11 and then didn't come home at 5 and didn't answer his cell, or didn't text me, I would be pissed and worried.

DId he say he was going to be home at a certain time?

being totally honest - I would be pissed. However, dh and I rarely go out without one another, actually we hardly go out at all! I would be really annoyed especially if he didn't call at all.

he drove to the city- and yes, he did admit he closed the place!

We dont have curfews- but typically with his other friends he's not usually that late- usually home by 3- besides, I know them and it doesnt bother me at all with them

DH hasnt done this since we've been married, but it did happen a couple times while we were dating. The only reason i wasnt super pissed is becuase he checked in a few times and let me know they were staying out. So, i think it depends on what he told you he was doing- did he say he would be out all night? did he check in at all?

If it was the one and only time then cut him a little slack. I am sure after this he wont pull the same thing again.

I was just being honest bc I would have been the same way.

no check in at all and he didnt mention when he would be home- but I didnt ask either

I'd be pissed.....5am! That just doesn't flow well with me. We don't give each other curfews because we're adults, but at the same time I don't think 5am is a reasonable time to come home, especially as a married person. That's just my personal opinion.

So yeah I would be as pissed as you probably are.

i would be mad - 5am is late - did he at least call you? if it was my DH and he kept checking in then i wouldnt be mad b/c i would at least know he was okay and not getting into trouble - but if i didnt hear from him until he walked in the door at 5am id be super mad and psycho especially b/c that would be out of my DHs normal character to do something like that so it would make me and

Re: Am I overreacting?

I dont think spouses should give eachother 'curfews' but there should be check in times and it should be spoken about when the person will be home. And if they wont be, they should call. I guess the reason I dont care what time DH comes home is because he doesnt do it alot and he is in CONSTANT contact with me. Asking me if Im okay, etc. he doesnt leave me out of the loop wondering what hes doing.

No check in at all?! I would be pissed! I dont think your overreacting in the slightest.

I'd be pissed. I always make DH let me know when he expects to be home so I don't worry about him. If he was going to be home later than usual, I would expect that he call me.

thanks girls! I appreciate everyone's feedback!

I'd be pissed, but I'd get over it. I would chalk it up to they were having a good time. He probably did think to call you but it was really late and he didn't want you to get pissed at him for waking you up.

i'd be pissed because he didn't check in. usually it's me who comes in that late after a night out w/ the girls (pre-pregnancy of course!), but i always check in so he won't worry. he does the same if he goes out. i don't believe in 'curfews', but please check in.

I'd be mad. Unless DH specifically told me he was going to be out late for bachelor party or some special event. Also I know DH would call me to let me know what he was doing, etc. I still would have been mad even if he called though.

Did you talk to DH about this to tell him how you feel?

Re: Am I overreacting?

HOWEVER...I do want to say that a few times when DH was away or when I was in Vegas I stayed out late. It has only happened like twice since we've been married and he wasnt around to witness it, but I told him I was out late and he laughed.
