That would be so great!... I really want to build my portfolio and there is only so much I can do with regard to *advertising* myself... Hopefully I can get enough under my belt so I can buy some space on LIF...

There are so many people out there I aspire to be like... I'm good at copying stuff, you know? It's extremely frustrating to find the motivation to begin a project... once I get an idea, it flows...
Getting commissioned to do a piece helps, which is what I am working on now... I'm better at doing work for OTHERs, rather than myself.

I know what you mean about being more inspired once you have a 'job', or you have been commissioned to do something. I used to write a LOT and if i wanted to start work on something for me - it was always harder to do. If someone came to me with an idea and needed something - i could blow that out in a few days!
Do not judge or rate yourself...(the alright comment)....we are always our harshest critics. Say that enough and you'll start to believe it and it's one hell of a slippery slope! (i say this out of experience).

I'm just realistic... I have my strengths, but when it comes to whether or not I can *cut it* as a fine artist... no way I could... I know I have talent, but I lack ideas and originality..

To be COMPLETELY honest, I'm better at sketching portraits... HORRIBLE at painting them.. Unless it was someone abstract... no faces... etc... something in watercolor..

I would let you roll with whatever you wanted...faces, no faces, big boobs is the only thing I ask that you add

i know you don't know me well enough yet - but i do not compliment people to just be nice...it's not in my nature. i'm honest - usually to a fault...
the self portrait in watercolor - i literally stared at that for 3-4 minutes. When Dave came in from work i showed it to him and said i want one of these....we're picking up our proofs tomorrow - so we'll have a good shot to pick from!

I'll let you come to my house and paint a free mural on my ceiling we shall call it white on white. Post pics when you finish I love seeing your work. Bobby is not allowed to see your Star Wars mural he would want it on the wall in our bedroom.

I would love to try... Thing is.. you know when you get something RIGHT, you try so hard to duplicate it? That's me with portraits and watercolor... I've TRIED to do as well with others to no avail... It's embarrassing, but I really think I peaked with that one. I tried to do a watercolor for my sister, of her wedding day and I just could't do it... It was frustrating as HELL.
as much as I hate to admit it, I think that painting was a fluke hahahahaha
(not very good as an advertiser, huh?)

i do know what you mean....it could also be that you were trying so hard - you were blocking your own creativity - ya know?
