I haven't changed anything. The only thing that has my new name on it, is our joint account we opened after the wedding. I am Lazy!!!!!!! One of these days, it will all be done.

I changed the major stuff (CC, Bank, DMV, SS) over shortly after getting back from the HM, maybe a week or 2 after.
Everything else (membership cards like Costco, American Airlines, etc.) I've been lazy on changing. But I have to change them all soon because most of them go by my drivers license number.

I did some stuff like banks, drivers license, ss and some credit cards. But I bought tickets to a concert for DH's birthday in August, so I have to keep that credit card and my passport (for ID) in my maiden name until after the concert.

I went from 8 letters to 7... but from somewhat hard to pronounce to hard to misprounounce :)
I also couldn't wait to change mine...
I had everything but the passport done 2 weeks after the wedding. Driver's License, Social Security Card, Bank Accounts, Credit Cards, AAA membership, Borders, Staples, Speedway, and tons of other memberships with cards... ...and of course all my online things too :)

I'm clueless about this. I got the Marriage Certificate from the officiant the day of the wedding, but I know it's not the 'official' one because it doesn't have the raised seal. Then I called the courthouse (got married in PA) last week to request a official copies to be mailed to me, which hopefully I will get soon.
-Do you need an 'official' one to go to SS office & DMV? I would guess so, right? -If you do, then did you get an official copy mailed to you after the wedding? I haven't received anything (2 weeks later), and my paperwork doesn't say anything about them mailing you an official copy (I thought I just had to call to order more copies). Should I have received a free official copy already, as some of you said you went right after your HMs?
I want to change my name ASAP, so this is confusing!!

My mom is obsessed with the fact that I don't plan on doing it for a while.
I'll do it when I am ready and not lazy!!!!!!

I was suprised how quickly everything went at the SS office. There was a huge line but about 20+ windows...so it went quick.

Except for my passport and a couple of bs store cards, I've changed everything already.
I was kind of forced into it. DH's insurance carrier and plan was changing to something we didn't like so in order to put him on my insurance, I had to prove we were married. So I changed my name on the insurance form too.
Then came payroll but they told me I had to do SS first. Then I did the bank/checks on my lunch hour. And I took a 'mental health' day from work and hit SS when they opened, DMV when they opened, and spent the afternoon calling credit card companies.
Once I started, it didn't make sense to stop until I was all done. I've been dragging my feet on the passport but maybe I'll do that next week.

i went to social security and dmv on the same day. we got our marriage license on 8/12 and i went on 8/17 - the only night dmv is open late. i don't know why i did it so fast, but i really had no reason not to

I've done some name changing but it isn't complete. The DMV I was in and out in like 15 minutes...I must have gotten lucky.

I did mine the day after we got back from our HM...It was so easy! SS took me 10 minutes, the RMV (in Mass it's a little quicker than NY) took 15...Easy peasy.
