Anniversary Trip

Anniversary Trip

DH and I were thinking of going on a trip but since $$ is TIGHT we want to do a budget friendly little extended weekend in April. I was thinking of just us driving somewhere- maybe Montauk or Boston or even Maine (I have a prius so gas $$ is not an issue)

Anyone have any suggestions on a nice romantic trip for us to take in mid to late April???

DH and I love Boston! We go there every year. We are actually going again for St. Pattys Day.

I usually book through hotwire, so it works out cheaper. Last year we stayed at the Intercontinental Hotel for 120 a night, which usually goes for 400. They have a really nice spa there as well. There are so many nice bars and restaurants to go to there.

A north fork trip? Shelter Island. Going upstate and staying the night in the Tarrytown Hotel and going to dinner at Blue Hill @ the Stone Barns(something my DH and I want to do!!!) It's a farm where they make all the dishes in the restaurant from their farm. It looks amazing!

Virginia Beach or NC aren't that long drives. They're both really nice in April.

We stayed at the Pridwin in Shelter Island. It wasn't the fanciest but it did the job. We hung out in Greenport and did a wine tour where they picked us up in Greenport and drove us around. They also made us a great lunch.
This was another hotel on Shelter Island. We had dinner there, it had more of a 'funky' South Beach vibe.

Castle on the Hudson in Tarrytown is close to the Blue Hill@ Stone Barns but I heard it's but it's beautiful.

There is also the Tarrytown House Estate/Conference Center which is priced more reasonably.

this is on my list as well. we stayed at Castle on the Hudson - it is gorgeous but def $$$ but dinner was amazing and included.... I reallly want to go again, tarrytown is adorable and I want to check out Blue Hill. it's also great if you want to go for just one night - i would check out the mansions etc. I LOVE the hudson valley.

I'm considering either a B&B up in Rhinebeck or out east since we've never done the wineries. I hear Jedidiah Hawkinns Inn is nice

Montauk Yacht Club is nice - they have a spa. My sister went to Shelter Island and LOVED it so that's also on my list. I can get info from her if you consider going there.

DYING to hit Newport, but a little far for just one weekend.

Re: Anniversary Trip

yea the castle looks REDONK!!! but for that kinda $$ we could fly somewhere. I'd rather have 'affordable' luxury.

We're kinda spoiled b/c my company is taking us to Grand Cayman next month so we figured a little weekend away in New England might be cool

I have no idea

There is a B&B I've been eyeing in Greenport called Harbor Knolls. It might be a nice weekend getaway.

that seems much more doable but I'm still a little hesitant because its a conference ctr...it might be a little busy rather than a nice romantic weekend.

I think I'm thinking more of a B&B route but its def still on the docket- I def want to check out Blue Hill
