another crockpot q

I am making chicken in my crockpot tonight for the first time... do I just dump the chicken in? Am I supposed to put water in the crockpot too?

I've never used a crockpot before, so I am clueless.

Re: another crockpot q

I like to put bbq sauce and some honey in. Comes out delicious.

Oh and remember to spray the pot with PAM first so it's easier to clean

Re: another crockpot q

There are two I usually do for Chicken... Lemon Garlic or Thyme Chicken..... super easy!

Lemon Garlic Chicken:

6 Boneless skinless Chicken Breast
Black Pepper to taste
1/2 cup Lemon juice
1/2 cup Garlic cloves, crushed
1 teaspoon Seasoned salt
1 teaspoon Poultry seasoning
2 dashes Tabasco
1 cup White wine

Generously pepper chicken breasts.
Combine with other ingredients in Crock Pot.
Set on low 7-8 hours or high 4-5 hours.

Thyme Chicken:
2 cup chicken stock
½ cup white wine
½ tbl dried thyme
1 clove garlic (minced)
1 lemon (cut in half)
3 lbs (1.5kg) Chicken Pieces

Put everything in the Crock Pot except the lemon... squeeze the lemon juice on top of everything... then put the lemon inside too.
Give the lemon a bit of a squeeze into the crock and then add the entire lemon and Mix together.
Mix it all together and make s ure the chicken is coated in the liquid.

Cook on low for 7-8 hours

With this one, I'll usually make a bit of a 'gravy' from the liquid in the pot... Just put some cornstarch in a bowl with some hot liquid to desolve it... and toss it back in the pot for 15 minutes to thicken it.
