Another post about my cat! SORRY!

As we get closer to our HM, I keep feeling more and more guilty about leaving her alone for 10 days. Please tell me she'll be fine! I feelso awful that I swear she is acting differently towards us like SHE KNOWS something is up!! Yes IM a crazy cat lady!

You're having someone come in & check on her right? My bro leaves their cat in the house for like a week all the time & it's fine...the neighbor's kid comes in & feeds it...

Yeah DH's step-mom is coming. I really think this would be best for her. She gets really weird outside of her environment. She has just been acting strange. Sleeping all day and not drinking water from the faucets like she normally does! Like she's sad!

LMAO I feel ya-I love my kitties too. I wouldn't feel right about leaving my cats alone because one overeats and the other one is stupid so they need supervision, but I am sure your cat will be ok.

She porbably does know. I'd hide anything you consider valuable. When I left tour cats for 2 days alone and had my FIL feed them, the older smart one TORE UP my favorite bag and made a home in it so it was destroyed. Animals like what smells liek you so they'll sleep on it and pretty much destroy it if it can be.

Maybe give ehr an old tee shirt or something of yours. We did that. They ahve this soft fleecey 'sock' thing they sleep in and i shoved old socks in there and they like that.

They can also pee on your stuff if they are angry or lonely.

I am sure she will be ok. Maybe bribe a friend to go over 3 of the 10 days and just house/cat sit for an hour so she gets some people time.

I know what you mean about the clothes. Sometimes when I leave a shirt I wore on the floor she'll do this thing where she holds a piece of it in her mouth and kneads at it for a LONG time. Its so cute. Ill leave a few things out for her. Im still working on someone staying here for a while. Thanks for the comfort girls.

Re: Another post about my cat! SORRY!

a lot of us are crazy cat ladies.

She'll be fine, a little lonely and she may not like you for a little while when you come back, but she'll be fine.

Cats are quite intelligent, except for Petey'sBride.
They can sense when things have changed.
Mine used to give me his tail when I came back from vacation. Would ignore me until I openend a can of tuna for him.

Don't worry we got the same way when it came to leaving our puppy and kitty in boarding while we were in NY to get married. DH was calling everyday 2x a day. But when it came for the HM my mom flew home with us and stayed with them. IT was better than leaving them in for another week.

And yes they know if something is up atleast my kitty knows. She will act so nice and want to be petted all the time. No your not a crazy cat lady. Your a loving mom of a furball. They are like our kids and we don't want to leave them but she sounds like she is in good hands so she will be fine. Don't feel guilty at all.

Apostrophe in the wrong place.
Should have read PeteysBride's

My friend has a dumb cat too. No matter how many times she slides across the floor after her toy mouse, she will always smack her face into the sliding doors.
Thinks that she can get at the cardinal birds that torment her by sitting on the deck in front of the doors. Runs up to the doors and tries to get 'thru' them.
Bella is so adorable and cuddly though, so one can forgive the dumbness.

Lea your kitty will be fine I promise, but I know how much you're worried, I was the same way. We left ours home and we were gone for 11 days. My cousin came to visit her here and there and made sure she was fed and the litter box was all clean. Cats really are better if you leave them in their own environment. This way the only adjustment they have to make is you not being there....not a new 'home' on top of that. She/he will love you that much more when you come home......Ruby (our cat) would not let us out of her sight when we got back it was so cute.
