Have you ever 'given up' certain friends b/c some of your closer friends dont like that other person? Do you monitor what you say to this other person b/c you're afraid of what you closer friends might think?
Like for example: You have a friend 'B' and you've been friends with this person for a while. There's another girl 'C' that you think is a nice girl and are basically just acquaintances. 'B' finds out that you've been talking to 'C' and gives you crap for it.
Do you stop talking to 'C' b/c you're closer friend tells you to stop? Or do you do what you want and talk to 'C' anyway??
I hope you can understand what i'm trying to say lolol

i actually have a situation like this...i still talk to my other friend because well - she's my friend. I just try not to bring her up around my other friend who's not so fond of her.

I think the answer to this equation is pi.
Also, Kristy doesn't like you, so I'm ending this thing w/you right now.
Yeah, I've been caught up in the 'my new friend is cooler' thing... I had a friend that I kinda just got stuck with by default b/c all of our other friends went away to school... and then I made some new friends at work that I liked better... and we eventually phased out friend 'A.' It was so bad... we used to all go out and pretend to be friends... then drop her off, and then go back out after we dropped her off. Once we almost got caught b/c we ran into her boyfriend after we'd dropped her off, but we managed to dodge him. I think.

I have a few friends that my other friends dont talk to anymore. I may not see them as much b/c they really arent in the circle anymore but I do still talk to them.
One of my best friends has actually become friendly with a girl that I havent spoken to in years. We used to best friends. They dont hang out but I know they are friendly it annoys the crap out of me but what can I say? You cant talk to her b/c we had a fight when we were 15?

I understand what you're saying. I've phased these people out of my life simply bc my real true friends would not be mean to them or unlike them just because. There is something there if none of them like this person.

I'm slightly confused, but I say you should be friends with who ever you want to be friends with.

Re: Another Q of the D..
When I was younger yes I dealt with this...now were all a group really. I mean I have friends Im closer to, but all my friends like one and other and there is no drama....back in HS oh boy there was....I kind of weeded out those girls

Nah, I have more of a backbone then that!! LOL. I can have more than one group of friends, and had a couple girls in my bridal party that weren't fond of one BM, (guy issues) but they all put their diffrences aside and so would I.
Unless there was a REALLY GOOD reason for me to give up that friend, (something truly unforgivable, not just petty craap or just against good ethics that HURTS the other person and myself). I would have to really consider my friendship if some one MADE me give up someone else.

Re: Another Q of the D..
Unless the other person did something personally to me, I wouldnt stop talking to them just because my closer friend doesnt like it. Thats a little possessive. I wouldnt allow her to give me crap about it either. I have a very close friends who hang out with people Im not crazy about but I dont let it bother me at all.

Re: Another Q of the D..
ugh people like that suck......i knew someone who was like that - it was annoying - and i sometimes went along with it but in the end learned my lesson and realized that person was crazy
so no, i wont do that anymore....if people dont like eachother too bad - i talk to everyone and if it bothers my 'friend' well thats too bad - its immature and i think that the person who doesn't want youto talk to girl 'c' (in this hypothetical situation) is probably just insecure or like i said crazy.....
its whack - friends shouldnt be possesive or weird like that

This actually is not happening to ME personally, just between a few others that I know of.

Re: Another Q of the D..
I've always stayed friends with people who I felt were good friends to me and wouldn't turn around and hurt me one day. I think that your friends should understand that you are able to meet and make new friends and not get angry.
I can tell you that when you are torn apart between friends and go back and forth between them that's bad news. I was in a friendship that consisted of three of us and then at one time four and it was hard when one was mad at the other and you are in between. Eventually it becomes work and not a friendship...that's when I cut all ties and I have to say, that was the BEST move I've ever made for MYSELF. Think about YOU in it all.
