Another question for the Newlyweds

Original post by jennbaby

I am not a good sleeper, I am always worrying.

How did you sleep the night before? Very little? Were you up really late? Did you feel fully rested in the morning?

Thanks

Re: Another question for the Newlyweds

I stayed in the hotel the night before and actually slept well. I had a nice relaxing quiet night and felt really rested the next morning.

Re: Another question for the Newlyweds

I rarely have a hard time sleeping but the night before the wedding I was too riled up.
Maybe I got about 2-3 hours. Plus I had a very bad cold that started the Thursday before the wedding and lasted through half of my honeymoon.

Re: Another question for the Newlyweds

I slept like a baby! I can sleep through anything! Plus my mom had to come in my room and wake me up the morning of the wedding! It was a stress-free experience for me. I didn't even get one bit nervous walking down the aisle, etc.

Re: Another question for the Newlyweds

i slept ok untill 3 am when I had a VERY real dream about my grandfather...He was holding my hand and telling me that I am very special and that he knows that Mitch was the man for me and that he will make sure that the weather is beautiful.
I woke up and shot up in bed.. my BM who was in the bed next to me woke up when I startled her and she wanted to mkae sure that I was ok... then I woke up 3 hours later and started to get ready...( Mind you I was also singing the song from themuppet movie' SOmebody's getting married today')

The weird thing was.. it had snowed the week before and waspouring oon that Sat and was cold.. my wedding day was really warm and really sunny...it went as high as 80 degress..In APRIL!!!

Re: Another question for the Newlyweds

Nicey,
I was also in tears the night before my wedding b/c of a disagreement w/DH. We were all supossed to meet @ this bar/restaurant in Bklyn after being at his precint for a tour(for all out of town family/friends.)Well, My family and my girls got there and so did his mom, sis, bro, aunt, and cousin...the rest of them went to a bar in NYC!! I was ****ed!!! He stuck me w/his family and took off with his friends!! This was after I asked him to please just hang in Bklyn(close to home...it was POURING!I was worried about drinking/driving) I told his brother he better go find him if he wanted me to show up the next day!!! He did, I got over it and went home after having a few drinks. I was probably in bed by 1am. I woke up at 4am to see that it was still raining and couldn't believe it! I fell back to sleep and got up at 6:30am. I couldn't believe it was my wedding day!! I wasn't tired at all until the next day...I was SHOT!! I could barely stand up!!

Re: Another question for the Newlyweds

I slept really well. I watched a movie and tried not to think about the 'big' day and fell asleep pretty quickly.

I slept on an air matress on the floor in my sisters bedroom at my parents house (I was already living with FH at that time) and despite the conditions, I slept really well. There was not one ounce of nervousness in me the whole day!!

Re: Another question for the Newlyweds

I slept like a teensy baby! I thought I was going to have trouble so 2 weeks before the wedding I took a sleeping pill just to see how it would affect me in case I couldn't sleep the night before. But I didn't even need it. I fell asleep at 10PM the night before the wedding and woke up at 8AM - so I was pretty well rested!!!

Try taking a pill a few weeks before in case you may need it the night before. Good luck!!

Re: Another question for the Newlyweds

I had way too much to do the night before the wedding! I spent the whole evening packing b/c we were leaving for the honeymoon the morning after the wedding.

But, I was done with all of that by 11:00 PM. I checked my cellphone messages, and pleasantly found a message from my boss (back in Cali) notifying me that I still had a job when I returned. (Unfortunately, my company was announcing layoffs the day after my wedding.)

I called Jeff to tell him I loved him and couldn't wait to see him at the alter...and then I fell asleep until 7:30 the next morning! Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.....

Re: Another question for the Newlyweds

I'd had a hard time falling asleep the night before my wedding day although I was already in bed by 10:30pm. I did not fall asleep until 11:35pm to wake up at 7am for a 3:30pm ceremony. You'll need a well rested night for a very busy day ahead. Our wedding day was very busy and hectic with a lot to do and running around, but was great and lots of fun!

I slept pertty good. I didnt sleep as late as I wanted to. But we had some people over for a BBQ, and we had a few drinks, so that made me fall asleep fast

Re: Another question for the Newlyweds

Jenn .. I was sooo worried that I wouldn't be able to sleep b/f the wedding, but surprisingly, I slept well. Probably the best night's sleep in a YEAR!!!
No dreams, no tossing & turning, no anxiety. It was all done.

It did help that I was sleep deprived the whole week leading up to it & I practically passed out on my BM who stopped by to spend an hour or so w/me before the big day!
