another thank you question

one of the directors in my company gave me a gift ($$$) for my wedding...do i send the thank you card to his house or do i give it to him in the office??

edited to add: we didn't invite him to our wedding.

If you have his address, I think you should send it to his home. Seems more formal that way.

The head of my department sent us a gift and we did not invite him either. I got his home address from his assistant and sent it there.
