Any of you go to your HS reunions?

Any of you go to your HS reunions?

How was it? I acutally went to my grammar school one, had no plans that night ,and around 10 people went, out of 80 lol it was SOOO bad. The girl who is planning this I was friends briefly in HS. Anyway, she planned an informal one at a bar. I got an invite through FB. I I replied that I couldn't go bc I originally had something to do that day, plans changed so now I don't, but I still have this feeling if I go I will be miserable lol. I had a alot of friends in HS, some I would like to cathch up with. I looked at the list of the people who are going, and there are only like 4 or so people who I was friends attending I know the majority of the guys who are going based on their FB pages still act 17, so I figure why go to be with a bunch of rowdy, drunk, people reminiscing and hearing out about all the stuff you did back then that you would like to forget about. Supposdly, there may be a formal one the end of the summer which I'll probably go to. So for the people who went to theirs, how was it?

I haven't had mine yet!

DH didn't ... I wanted him to go (and to go with him) but he had other plans ... he proposed to me that night instead!

i went to my 10 year one last year..it also helps that dh graduated with me and so did my best frinds so we all went together and had a blast

Mine won't be until 2013, and I'm sure I won't go. I really didn't have many friends in HS, and the ones I still have I keep in touch with, so I don't have a need.

Ours was at a bar in the village -- a lot of people showed up and it was a decent time.

DH's is this year but I don't know if we're going to go or not yet. I feel way too old for it, but we'll go if he wants to and if his best friend is going probably.

Right now mine I think 70 people are going, but that's including guests which means there's only 35-40 people out of my class of like over 150..ehh

I definitely will not go. I went to two high schools- the first one from Freshman until the end of Junior year and then another one for Senior year. I got the boot from the first high school so I was not invited to their reunion though a friend did invite me to go as her guest. LOL! I wasn't at the 2nd school long enough to want to go, though I do still talk to a few people from there.

ETA: I got kicked out for a really DUMB reason- I went to an all girls Catholic highschool that required you to do 40 hours of mandatory volunteer service (kind of an oxymoron, right? ). Anyway, I did CCD classes but I was given a Communion class so the kids finished early- end of March beginning of April. So I only had like 36 hours. And they wouldn't give me the credit! They told me I could do 80 hours of volunteer service over the summer or not come back. So I didn't go back! Stupid nuns!

I planned mine, I was class officer.

We did an informal one at a bar and it was great! We probably had about 90 classmates and some crashers from years around us. It was a lot of fun and the first successful reunion in years because we didn't try to make it fancy.

I say go, but go late.

By the way only about 20 RSVPd they were coming, most just showed up. I was laughing as I saw former classmates do drive-bys to see if it was crowded then come back 10 minutes later and pull into the parking lot.

I never went to any grammar school ones. But i did ttend my ten year quite a few people attended but it was like HS all over again (for me i had a wonderful HS experience so it was cool all of my old friends were there). It wasnt like too many people at that point had moved very far. I guess alot of people after college ended purchasing homes in LB. So it was kind of fun. Im looking forward to our 20 yr. That should be great now that people ar ereally established married kids etc.

Did you have to pay for yours though? Mine is 50 dollars a person so I would feel bad just showing up

Did you have to pay for yours though? Mine is 50 dollars a person so I would feel bad just showing up

Oh no, we planned a cash bar event. It was perfect!

i went to mine. thankfully their was wine!!!!!

me and my bff from HS went thru the old building (it was held at the school) and saw our old lockers. that was cool. but chit chatting w FB friends and ppl i dont care about and eating crappy food was a waste of time

there was 1 friend that moved so we dont see eachother a lot, so that was worth it too...

but aside from that and the wine it was a big waste of time!!

Mine will be this year...I think in October.....I can't wait to go...I LOVED my high school and all the girls (54 total seniors). I hope most of them come back I'd love to see some of them that I'm friends with on FB but haven't seen in 10 years!

I didn't go to mine, I only went to the high school I graduated from for 2 years (11th & 12th grade), I'm friends with more people the grade below me. For me it really wasn't something I wanted to go to

My grade was a bunch of slackers and didn't have a 10 year reunion.. they did an 11 year one instead.

It was at a restaurant in the city and I was really on the fence about going but ended up not, bc my bf from HS was preggo and wouldn't be there. Only about 20 people went out of 123, which was sad bc our grade was really close in HS. Maybe I'll go to my 20 year one.

I went to my 10 year and it was kind fun to see how everyone turned out. With a graduating class of about 500 there was plenty of people watching to be done.

My 20 year reunion is right around the corner....still up in the air if I will be going to that one 20 years!!!!!!!

I just got the invitation the other day actually. It's going to be at the Hyatt in Hauppauge. 4 hour open bar and a buffet.

Oh, and $120 per PERSON.

That would be $240 if DH and I both go. It's a week before our first anniversary and I am feeling that the money could be going towards something more special (ie: a night at a hotel on our special day). Most everyone that I associate with is on Facebook. My good friend already said she's not going. We had a class size of almost 900 and I have a good feeling that no more than 100 will go (that was the case with last year's 10 yr reunion).

So, chances are, I will prob. give it another 10 years.

DH and I both haven't had ours yet!. i will def go to mine, even though i still see pretty much everyone all the time anyway.

I so understand that! lol My 20yr is in two years! AHHHHH Where di dteh time go? I feel like a HSer still! lol
